The professions that will save the world

The new job is social-green

By reading newspapers, magazines, online articles, discovering the latest statistics on young people and on the brains in flight, one can become demoralized. But if we observe well, around us, in the real world and of everyday life, we often have to change our minds and we can be heartened by the fact that perhaps something is really changing and indeed the commitment to a better world is part of the ambitions of not a few .

Beyond telematics and large-scale technological innovations, going around the streets of the city, for example, one can discover that the new bicycle repair shop was born under the house , which is also a bit of a refreshment and a space of interaction; or that a little further on the old gatehouse of the grand palace has become a café and point of help and generational exchange; or you come across the gardener with a sustainable heart that takes care of the gardens between the cement and design objects that clean up the air .

Let's see what are the professions of the future that will save the world.

The professions of the future

Photographed by the National Geographic, the new green professions are little more than a dozen, or occupational outlets that not only do the soul good, allow one to live with dignity, doing good also to the world and the environment in which we live.

Leaving aside the works of engineers who purify water or create non-polluting engines, innovations in the recycling industry, sustainable home builders, researchers and valuable nature scientists or photovoltaic panel and cell installers, let's just see what new and simple is being born around us .

> The workers of the "social bars" : let's call them social-cafés, but also useful bars, meeting points where to find each other, talk to each other, confront each other while adjusting a bicycle, looking for a seamstress or picking up a package. In Milan, for example, there are many bicycle-car workshops, bike cafes run by young, passionate, two-wheel lovers.

Surprisingly the all-female idea of "La Portineria 14" (Il Sole 24Ore), a special place where "emergencies are solved" - such as the need for a plumber, a seamstress and drugs at home - but you can also going just to exchange a smile, a meeting place for everyone that enhances the neighborhood and wants to be a point of reference to rediscover that sense of trust between neighbors and people, too often failed.

> Urban farmers : they work in the green city, design vegetable gardens and grow vegetables or fruit, climb on the roofs of the terraces or down, between a sidewalk, a road sign and a small flowerbed to be redeveloped . The green city movement can also start to conquer tourism, just look at the Fairmont Waterfront Hotel in Vancouver, which has given the urban growers a really large surface on which to operate.

As Ansa has communicated some time ago, Italy has the fifth place in the world as a market born thanks to new urban, ethical and shared gardening.

> Designers with a green heart : Green Design Professionals who work to create "living roofs", such as "The Living Roof", which does much more than prevent rain from entering the California Academy of Sciences building.

Or the "double skin" of the Manuel Gea Gonzalez hospital in Mexico City, which filters air pollution. And again the tower-shaped work of the Dutch designer Daan Roosegaarde, able to purify the surrounding air.

And why not mention the all-Italian Malko Bottle project that can be supported on the dedicated Malko Kickstarter website and can also be followed on the facebook page that rejects the plastic and will transport your water in practical, functional and safe colored bottles ?

A green style Father's Day

How I celebrate your dad Dads are celebrated in different ways , depending on the country they are in. Win the war on mosquitoes naturally

First of all it is necessary to make a premise: the best antidote to mosquitoes is prevention. This means mosquito nets on all windows and balconies; it means avoiding stagnation of water (for example in manholes) sluice and larvicidal mosquito nets. A solution often overlooked is that of the trap , which attracts mosquitoes for example with light or heat and then catch them forever with the help of a fan...
