CapraUnica project: a happy rebirth

The theme of happiness is very dear to the new community of Caprauna, a small town made up of four hamlets and a handful of houses in the province of Cuneo, located between the Piedmontese mountains on one side and the sea of ​​Albenga on the other.

To call it an ecovillage is perhaps a bit reductive: this is a place where, first of all, we think that a community has the duty, indeed the obligation, to create a prerequisite for being happy .

Then everything follows and is intimately linked to happiness. Many people are in fact passionate about this project, artists, travelers, programmers, farmers, videomakers, building professionals, so much so that we are thinking of setting up a Councilorship for Happiness and even a Caprauna Film Festival and a Festival of Happiness !

But it is not only the creators who feel part of this joy: here everyone is welcome: volunteers, coworkers, tourists who love nature and rural life, human beings or simple onlookers who basically feel that degrowth as a philosophy of life accompanies and lives also and in parallel with a good use of technology.

In practice the aim is to restore spaces for tourists, recover agricultural activities, organize cultural and artistic events, as well as cultivation courses, naturalistic and holistic activities, welcoming volunteers and wwoofers from all over the world.

Caprauna: the village of happiness

With the words of the creators, the strong points of the CapraUnica project, raised to the flag on the site of the same name, are:

> Realize many things with firm steps, but on tiptoe.

> Believe in beauty and respect for nature.

> Believing in conscious degrowth.

> Believing that a healthy and sustainable diet makes us feel better about the world, as well as ourselves.

> Believing that technology, used in a conscious way, can help people live better.

A lot is already being done in Capraunica : for example, a sanctuary for animals is being created, with lots of trips and visits for children.

In this regard also Feligita is born, a day to discover this village of happiness, with coach departures from Milan, Genoa, Rome and Turin.

There are many forces in the field, and those who wish can participate personally in this project of happiness: they need arms for masonry work, carpentry, gardening and laborers in general; hands for graphic works, videomakers, journalists. The gradual project of this happy island is to repopulate the area with stable inhabitants, creating basic services, work for the residents and activating a virtuous circle of demand and satisfaction of the same.

The island of CapraUnica, whose logo is a purple goat that flies hooked to a yellow balloon, is also found between the pages of fb, on Twitter and on Instagram.
