Green tea because it could make you lose weight
Green tea contains polyphenols, flavonoids, catechins. It is these last ones that would determine the slimming power of the plant and make green tea effective in a diet: recent discoveries have shown that these substances are responsible for the increase in thermogenesis : our body produces more heat and, therefore, it burns consequently even more fat. Essentially it increases the speed with which the body burns fat and, at the same time, the daily consumption of calories also rises considerably, something that is repeated when you follow a diet. This acceleration of metabolism is without negative effects, both for the heart and for the nervous system.
If we wanted to use green tea in a diet
Green tea and diet are therefore two things that can coexist. Green tea contains substances that are effective in burning fat, as we have seen, but we also need to know how to prepare it so that these do not go missing and lose their effectiveness.
To keep the slimming principles unaltered, green tea in a diet is first of all used in leaf (better than the sachet), putting a couple of grams on the bottom of the cup, filling it with a part of cold water and a boiling water, or leaving it to infuse in the teapot in steaming water, without having reached a boil. Milk should never be added to green tea: casein kills polyphenols.
The green tea diet
However, green tea alone does not do miracles as one might hope. With its daily and constant consumption, from 5 to 10 cups a day, it certainly helps, along with a healthy and correct diet and physical training, to make the extra pounds go down. You can therefore personalize each diet by adding the consumption of green tea.
On the web there are endless proposals for green tea diets where, essentially, to the consumption of light and balanced foods, it is enough to combine a cup or more of green tea at each meal of the day: breakfast, snack, lunch, snack. Green tea should be avoided in the evening as, even if the amount of caffeine it contains is lower than coffee or other teas, it is distributed so as to be exciting for prolonged periods, so it may risk keeping you awake at night.
