Therapeutic gardening: giving the emotion of caring for flowers and plants

We all regenerate in body and spirit as we stroll through a park, taking care of the flowers in the garden or simply sharpening the view between skyscrapers in search of a green glimpse. Certainly you will have already experienced it: it is all thanks to the therapeutic action of plants and flowers .

Why are the views of greenery, gardening, flowers therapeutic?

Because flowers, plants, trees are carriers of "positive vibrations" for body and spirit; the flowers in particular act by creating inner harmony, reconciling the three "systems" that exist in every human being, which are mind, body and spirit.

What can be done to exploit the therapeutic qualities of flowers and plants?

With rehabilitation through nature we can seek physical and psychological improvement through interaction, even if only visual, with nature. The sight of a green landscape for example decreases our stress level, improving mood.

But we can do even more: Benjamin Rush, the father of American psychiatry, said that working the land had a beneficial effect on mental health. In short, gardening is therapeutic.

But what if we don't have the opportunity to go to the park or work the land every day?

The solution is called home gardening, but also the garden on the balcony!

Taking care of small aromatic plants or flowers even on a window sill or in an office can only help our mood day after day.

An original idea of home gardening

They are called Pocket Gardens, they are small bags complete with flower seeds (or aromatic plants) and soil, ready to grow and easily positioned on the balcony or on the office desk to give us little moments of well-being!

Also considering the Christmas that is approaching we can choose among the many varieties of flowers and cooking spices and give them to friends and relatives, so as to offer a gift of therapeutic gardening even to those who do not have a green thumb or have little space.

Like all flowers and plants, they need the right care, but they will also give us the irreplaceable thrill of growing something of ours, seeing our child be born and grow!
