External hemorrhoids, the symptoms
Itching, swelling, bleeding, fever, constipation, burning : these are the unpleasant and embarrassing symptoms of the haemorrhoidal crisis .
Hemorrhoids are bearings placed in the final part of the rectum, highly vascularized. The function of these bearings is to modulate the passage of feces through the anus. When the venous and arterial circulation presents problems, these pads can swell and prolapse, that is to say exit from their own site, presenting themselves as those that are called "external hemorrhoids".
External hemorrhoids are very annoying and painful. They show themselves as pimples swollen with blood around the anus. When they are particularly severe, and for a long time exposed, they can even lead to bleeding .
In consideration of the position and function of the hemorrhoidal pads, it is easy to guess how delicate they are and how much they can cause pain and discomfort if they should present problems.
Microcirculation, what is the link with hemorrhoids
Among the main causes of hemorrhoids, circulation plays a prominent role. A good blood circulation in fact allows the blood to flow and not to stay in any body district; Difficulties in circulation instead can cause external hemorrhoids.
If the blood, for reasons of its own composition and viscosity or due to problems in the walls of the vessels, does not circulate freely and stagnates at the periphery, there are oedemas and swellings, with the formation of very painful varices .
In particular, the microcirculation, which consists of the thinnest network of blood vessels, is the one that suffers the most. As a result of a problem related to microcirculation, the blood fails to return from the hemorrhoidal pads to the rest of the circulatory system and to the heart and vice versa: here stagnation causes swelling and prolapse caused by varicose dilations.
Cures for external hemorrhoids
During a haemorrhoid crisis, in the presence of external hemorrhoids, the first remedy is to limit the damage, trying to contain the pain and inflammation .
In a broader perspective, which also includes a work of prevention, it is necessary to adopt a lifestyle that allows to lighten the blood circulation, implement the vascular capacity and reduce the mechanical stresses to which these bearings are subjected.
You can then act on several aspects:
> nutrition : almost all of the imbalances affecting circulation are attributable to a sedentary lifestyle and an unbalanced diet, which overloads the work of disposing of metabolic cellular waste, makes the quality of cellular nutrition poor and increases the viscosity of the blood .
It is therefore useful to simplify the diet: eliminate refined and processed foods, spicy and particularly yang, which heat and expand; avoid alcohol, coffee, spices, sugars, processed and red meats ; finally, reduce the use of salt, replacing it with aromatic herbs. It is also useful to drink plenty of water and take foods rich in polyphenols and natural anti-inflammatories;
> movement : exercising allows the blood vessels to contract and, in this way, give more force to the blood. In this way the venous circulation from the periphery to the center, which is most affected by the effort of moving due to the force of gravity, can fully perform its function, avoiding edema and swelling .
> natural remedies : anything that improves the quality of circulation can prevent and alleviate problems with hemorrhoids. The sitz baths can be useful, because they stimulate the microcirculation in the pelvic area, as well as the foot reflexology and manual lymph drainage .
Once the haemorrhoid crisis has passed, it is possible to prevent constipation and stagnation of fecal matter in the last part of the intestine (a cause of hemorrhoid prolapse) by regularly undergoing an enteroclisma : however, be careful never to perform enemas and internal washes in presence of aching hemorrhoids and bleeding.
