Yoga and Children, which approach

For years now, various national realities have been doing their utmost in teaching Yoga to children . What is important to evaluate, in these situations, is the training of instructors .

It is not enough, in fact, to know the dynamics of the developmental age or, on the other hand, to be qualified Yoga instructors. The Yoga-Children mixture is in fact a dimension in itself .

Starting from the assumption that Yoga is Union, it must be emphasized that the Union in this case must be declined in different shades.

In the specific case of children it is a question of facilitating unity, group cohesion both among pupils and between students and teachers, to teach that the body, thoughts and emotions are nothing but the different aspects of a single individuality.

But to obtain such an understanding it is fundamental to start from different indididualities . Each of us is born with a wealth of information that derives from the genome in one direction and from the individual character that is already forming in the mother's womb. And from this we cannot and must not ignore teaching yoga to children.

In our experience, in fact, the acceptance of the practice of Yoga assumes as many different tones, rhythms and flows as there are children in the classroom.

this is why, for example, asking for a uniformity of breath, postures, and mental attitude would be not only deleterious in itself but also very far from what should be provided to the child, who needs to become aware of "further" tools ( conscious breathing, imagination, control of physical movement ...) to feel better in general, to live more holistically and consciously every single moment of the day.

Every single child is the holder of an innate talent, which is alone and only his and which no one else expresses in the same way. Sacrificing it for homologation, for the standardization of the group is the farthest from Yoga you can imagine.

A child has already inscribed all the projections of himself as an adult until very small. The point is to recognize the qualities and encourage them to expose them without fear of judgments or errors.

It matters little if they are unable to practice immobility in the "corpse" posture or stand with their eyes closed for more than 3 seconds. It matters little if instead of pratiucare a posture they look around with a lot of eyes, amazed, amazed and full of curiosity.

What really has value in teaching Yoga to children is to observe them and facilitate their individuality so that it integrates with itself before the external world, so that as an adult he does not have to practice constant confrontation, renouncing himself, but rather wearing himself with security, conviction and respect in society.

Anyone who knows himself, in fact, also knows the "others". And it is precisely from here that respect for all that is around, human, animal or vegetable, is born.
