Kundalini yoga and subtle energy

What is Kundalini yoga

Kundalini yoga operates a transformation of subtle energies, rather than of the body, without neglecting the important relationship between the two aspects.

The practice of Kundalini yoga aims to awaken the Kundalini energy, which is located in the first chakra, Muladhara, at the base of the spine of each of us, raising it towards the mental level and beyond.

This type of yoga focuses its work on the chakras. Looking at the maps of the chakras we see how each of them is connected to a particular gland of the body; Hence the task of Kundalini yoga is to stimulate and harmonize endocrine functioning. In this way, the balance of many physical functions and also of many emotional states is stabilized .

Kundalini yoga is also practiced in harmony with the energies of nature: there are classes for the various periods of the year, for the various phases of the moon and for the various aspects of the chakras . If practiced regularly, it allows you to do a complete job on all these aspects.

Benefits of Kundalini yoga

Kundalini Yoga is among the most energetic of yoga schools. For this reason its main benefits concern:

> the emotional sphere : the Kundalini gives emotional stability and clarity of views, calms anxiety states, stress and emotional excesses;

> the relational sphere : by rebalancing the emotions, Kundalini yoga allows us to improve personal and human relationships in general;

> the mental sphere : this type of yoga improves concentration, mental clarity, intuition and creativity ;

> the physical sphere : the asanas act on the body like a complete gymnastics that involves all the muscles, stretching them, loosening the joints, correcting the posture and giving elasticity and tone. The functioning of the nervous and endocrine system as well as the immune defenses, the lymphatic and blood circulation improve me ;

> the spiritual sphere : just as the path of the subtle energy of Kundalini unfolds from the most material to the most spiritual, even the path of Kundalini yoga leads to a greater awareness, to a more incisive focus of one's essence, of subtle energies that permeate one's inner and outer life of communication between inside and outside.

Mantra in Kundalini yoga

The recitations of Mantra are always included in a Kundalini Yoga class.

Mantras can be vocalizations of words or phrases, in Sanskrit language or even in western languages. Mantras produce a deep vibration that affects the whole body . Reciting a Mantra, alone or above all in a yoga class, moves from within and deeply moves.

The message contained in the Mantras therefore works not only for the meaning conveyed, but also for the effect of sound . These vocalizations also contribute to physical and mental purification, giving a sense of openness and intense and lasting energy, a clarity and a mental peace, as well as a balance of respiratory and cardiac rhythm.

How to practice Kundalini yoga

The opening of a Kundalini yoga class is always accompanied by a specific Mantra . Then a warm-up session follows.

The practice takes place, as in almost all types of yoga, gradually taking particular positions, known as healthy, dynamic or static, more or less demanding.

In a class one is always guided by the Yoga teacher, who has the task of giving directions on the rhythm of the breath and on how to perform the positions correctly from the muscular and articular point of view.

At the end of the Kundalini class, relaxation and closure with meditation and Mantra. Some practices also include the execution of Mudra, particular positions with hands able - as well as asanas, mantras and breathing - to balance energy circulation.
