What is a facial tonic for?

Often toning the skin is a step that we tend to overlook. You want to hurry or get too tired. But the tonic is one of the essential wellness products to complete the daily cleansing of our skin, after a good moisturizing milk and before a gentle massage with a nourishing oil. It can also be an effective product even after a complete facial cleansing, after natural masks or do-it-yourself peeling, to restore vigor and shine to stressed skin. The more the tonic is fully included among the natural cosmetics products, the more effective it is : this is why it is important to choose between fresh ingredients, fruit and vegetables, to prepare it at home, customized ingredients depending on the type of facial skin you have .

We choose among the natural products for DIY tonic

Blueberry

In equal parts mix the mineral water, pure cranberry juice and whole milk: shake and place the bottle with the mixture obtained in the refrigerator. This is a fantastic tonic to moisturize dry, damaged and chapped skin easily. It keeps for about 5 days.

Chamomile

Boil the water and leave the chamomile flowers, a couple of tablespoons per cup, in infusion for about an hour. Add three drops of apple cider vinegar to a bottle. Keep in the fridge. Chamomile treats delicate and refreshing skin.

Coconut and lime milk

Take some grated coconut and let it soak in the mineral water for a few hours. Mix everything in a blender and filter, adding a couple of drops of fresh lime or lemon, if you don't have the first one.

Store in the refrigerator for 4 or 5 days. Coconut and its derivatives are a panacea for skin and hair. The tonic thus obtained has a nourishing, soothing, emollient and invigorating effect together. Even better if you have fresh coconut milk at your disposal.

Cucumber

Blend a previously peeled cucumber and strain the juice. Add two tablespoons of apple vinegar and a little demineralized water, mix well. Spread the morning and evening tonic on your neck and face, making your skin shine.

Lavender and lemon

Even oily skin needs its natural DIY tonic. Get lemon and lavender essential oil. In a small cup of water, add two drops of lemon essential oil and two of lavender. Apply to face and neck.

green tea

Prepare a green tea and use it as a tonic, adding only five drops of lemon. Also this recipe is effective as an antioxidant and to brighten and heal the slightly oily skin.

Application tips

To apply the tonic one can proceed in three ways. Blot the affected part with cotton balls or cotton gauze. The tonic is passed over the entire face and neck through gentle pressure. Tapping lightly on the skin, tapping the face and neck with a cotton gauze, to also associate a revitalizing action of circulation.

Finally spraying ; through this technique the tonic is dispersed in very small particles and in this way it is more easily absorbed by the skin. This method is recommended for skin with acne or blemish, so healthy areas are not affected by the passage of the pad or skin with couperose, one of the most delicate. The water used for preparing the tonic is preferably the demineralized water.
