A journey to meet the wisdom of the human spirit

Unfathomable, indefinable, mysterious and yet so concrete and changeable, sometimes more than the subject itself to which it has been contrasted by thinkers, the human spirit has hidden itself and at the same time has avoided so many times by cultural forms and definitions that its research seems destined to remain perennial .

Luca Basto, with his documentary-journey "Vento maestrale", approaches this theme with his attempt to portray the human spirit in an artistic way, through a documentary focused on some of the last tribes still in direct contact with Nature and with a spontaneous and direct knowledge of the world .

We see, together with the author, to capture some details of this project, its origin, its definition of human spirit, its purpose.

Luca, your “Vento maestrale” project takes shape through two main approaches, that of the documentarian and that of the naturopath. What is your background?

As for the documentary career, my training is self-taught. At the age of 18 I bought my first camera and from that moment until I am 35, I have dedicated myself to creating videos that express and reflect the beauty and depth of nature to the fullest.

In recent years I have had the opportunity to invest in more professional equipment and this allows me to carry out more sophisticated jobs. As for my path as a naturopath I practice manual therapies from childhood . During the growth I studied the different branches of this science that I considered necessary to understand what I perceived in practicing therapies.

At the age of 26 I started studying in some naturopathic schools in Granada, obtaining diplomas in cranial sacral therapy, fascial integration, chiromassage, relaxing massage, sports massage and therapeutic massage. I participated in internships about the different branches of reflexology and shiatsu, but I recognize my greatest training in what transmitted to me the contact with Nature, through which I developed all the sensitivity I use to help people heal themselves .

It would seem a long, interesting journey. What inspired you to set up your project?

"Vento maestrale", seen in its entirety, was born and developed over the years naturally, hand in hand with my personal, spiritual and artistic growth.

The music that I compose together with the different artists, the videos that I make in the different natural places I study and the different scientific subjects I study to work best on the two documentaries I'm making (" the soul of the earth " and " the memory of civilizations "), Are part of a single message that I address to people: to recognize the complex depth of life to identify one's own within that miracle.

As for what inspired me to undertake research "the memory of civilizations", the answer is the faith that I place in the wisdom that humanity has accumulated along its path, both physically and spiritually. The goal is to show the world what the roots of humanity have to teach us . Spread healing methods, natural remedies and purification techniques aimed at self-healing.

Do you already have a defined travel program?

The journey has Africa as a starting point and then moves to other continents, at different latitudes, to observe the effects that the climate also has on different types of care. I will cross: Senegal, Gambia, Kenya, Peru, Ecuador, Bolivia, Cambodia, Tibet and Alaska living with native tribes to internalize what I will have to communicate through documentaries.

It is a research that I aim to carry out over 5 years, during which I will produce and publish videos, photos, music and documentaries. At the end of the research (going through all the countries listed) I will deal with producing the complete documentary in which all the tribes that I will have had the opportunity to know and experience will be present: "The memory of civilizations".

How can you support your project?

All people interested in this research will be able to support it by making a donation on my website www.ventomaestrale.com. Depending on the donation they make, they will receive at home some small works that Sardinian artisans have donated for this cause, and all the people who love to travel and who will give some support to the research, will be able to come and visit me in the country where I am for the duration of 10 days in the short term that I will devote to receiving visitors.
