Hip pain: possible causes and main remedies

When the hip has some problems it often reverberates the pain in annexed districts like the groin or along the leg up to the knee.

In fact it is improper to indicate pain in the hip, unless there are real traumas of the femoral head in the acetabulum.

In any case it is a very vascularized and innervated area, consequently the disorder is felt mainly in the points of support and movement such as the joints and the groin area.

Causes of hip disorders:

> Cartilaginous wear : since we are born our hips are moving, when we start to walk they become support joints, change postures.

In the course of life, we walk, run, swim, sit, cross our legs, do gymnastics and the hips are always there to articulate the femur, to support our whole back with our pelvis ... a strenuous job!

And unfortunately over time they can suffer traumas from wear, because even the cartilages have their own duration and if not protected they consume and the pains begin.

> Coxartrosis : it is osteoarthritis of the hip and can arise with age. The peculiar symptom is the pain in the groin, which gives torment when walking. This alarm bell can sound even in younger subjects and be a sign of arthritic inflammation.

> Inflammation : sometimes one feels lateral pains in the hip, but they are not proper to the bone joint itself but of the gluteus medius, or of the muscle which, like a sort of triangular fan, extends from the iliac crest until it enters the trochanter.

It works as an abductor of the thigh and maintains the balance of the pelvis in case of support on one leg.

When these muscle bundles become inflamed giving rise to a tendinopathy or when a trochanter bursitis occurs, the pain that is felt involves the side, the musculature of the thigh and buttock with a stiffening that limits gait.

There are many other pathologies related to the hip, its articulation, the musculature and its insertions, even particularly serious ones, such as dysplasias, neoplasms, but of a much more complex dissertation that does not fit into this area of ours.

Remedies for hip pain:

We can counteract the degeneration of cartilage and disinfect muscles and tendons with remedies that help and improve the quality of the movement.

> Collagen : it is a constitutive element of our locomotor apparatus, a protein that is partly produced by our body and is partly synthesized from dietary proteins.

Unfortunately, with age we lose shares of collagen every day, due to free radicals and wear. We can integrate it with some preparations suitable to increase the available quota, such as hydrolyzed collagen and hyaluronic acid.

> Glucosamine : also glucosamine is already present in our connective tissues. It increases and maintains cartilage and synovial fluid. We can help with glucosamine supplements, both animal and vegetable.

Glucosamine is often in combination with methylsulfonylmethane (MSM) which enhances the protective action of cartilages.

> Boswellia : Boswellia is an anti-inflammatory and natural analgesic. It improves the painful condition, reduces possible swelling or edema, disinfects. It has protective properties against enzymes from the deteriorating action of elastic tissues and connective tissue.

It is indicated in cases of arthritis, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis.
