The identification of the aggressiveness potential and the correction of certain behaviors can be entrusted to natural remedies. Let's find out which ones.
Aggression and its symptoms
There are certain stressful situations in which the dog and the cat are particularly aggressive and can trigger an improper defense instinct.
There are very good dogs and cats that have a great capacity for tolerance even in highly stressful contexts, while some subjects have a perception of exaggerated danger .
The dog and the cat defend their own space which is not only the house, the garden or the kennel, but also the space around them, within which the approach of another is perceived as dangerous; this is represented by the critical distance, more or less restricted around the body, and by the wider safety distance around the individual.
Each subject lives the breadth of these two areas in a very personal way. It is certain that the closer one physically approaches the subject, the more one violates his critical distance. The overcrowded and closed places can provoke the natural tendency of the defense ration of their own space, so that the experts of behavior of the animals, of the dog in particular, classify them at very high risk, absolutely to be avoided.
Dog's aggressiveness: cures and natural remedies
Among the herbal remedies useful for controlling a state of aggressiveness of the dog there are:
- Lemon balm and verbena : calm dogs that are too agitated and overreact to any stimulus. They can be administered as a dry extract.
- Scutellaria: it acts specifically on nervous fear, especially if it is accompanied by spastic intestinal states (colic, diarrhea, flatulence).
Bach flowers are very useful for keeping the aggressiveness of the dog under control. Depending on the type of aggressive behavior the following flower essences can be administered:
- Beech: helps to be tolerant of what is external to oneself, to understand it and live it to the fullest;
- Rock rose: it is suitable for those who lose control due to terror;
- Chicory: useful in case of exaggerated possessiveness;
- Holly: for the jealous dog that shows explicit aggression.
These flowers can be used separately, but it would be good to prepare a flower arrangement of those that are more corresponding to the emotion of the dog to act on the different emotional levels involved in this type of stressful situations. The aim is to make the critical space more "permeable" to others' presence. The floral composition must succeed in softening an armor that is instinctive, and therefore difficult to access.
