Anger in the martial arts

It is not really rare that those who approach martial art are people who have suffered abuse, badly managed attacks and who have been called to stay on the defensive often in a family or other social context.

Of course, this is not a rule at all, but in general many schools and institutes do not have a real program of education to the feelings, when there should be nothing more relevant, being the emotions of the real engines.

Let's see together in which cases the anger penetrates into the gym and risks bursting out of control.

Anger in the martial arts

In what cases could anger affect those who work or attend a gym? Which are the most predisposed subjects? How to recognize this feeling in oneself and in others? Let's see together which are the most frequent cases and which are the subjects most often called into question:

    The teacher

It is a fact, an incontrovertible reality. Those who practice a discipline for years develop a strong sense of discipline which, if not supported by an enormous push towards continuous self-observation, risks turning passion into an explosive charge of self-centeredness and unexpressed anger.

We often see female and male trainers who have thrown back into the martial arts problematic unresolved with parents or relatives or spouses.

Being a master or teacher of martial art requires constant commitment and a pure vocation to mastery . Recognize those who teach because they are charged with a real passion and distrusted by those who always show impassiveness and have the answer ready for any business.

Trust your intuitions but don't try to psychoanalyze your own teacher. Discover calmly how it relates to the slowest in learning and do not judge, just observe and feel inside the heart.

        Superb student

If in the group there is one or a practitioner who has been following the teacher or teacher for a longer time, it can happen that there are ego surges, jealousies, a sense of superiority, a desire to excel and demonstrate.

Keep your unity and do not force yourself into anything . Do not respond to provocations and take this meeting as a chance to explore your mechanics.

Of course, doing lesson every time being dealing with similar people is not easy, but you should try to focus only on the quality of your movement. And when the sarcasm that masks the anger really becomes unbearable, learn to defend yourself and report to those responsible.

Martial arts: knowing and modulating strength

          You

You always feel out of place, you look at everything and you criticize, you perform martial applications with too much force or impetuosity. Your mind is always somewhere else during the exercises, eat meals quickly before training, suggest - indeed orders - always to others how to do it and with a certain insistence.

Here, if at least two of these modalities occur more than usual you are probably a person full of anger who is exploiting the martial art to harass others by ending up feeling more abandoned and miserable. Start from scratch. Look in the mirror and inhale.

Remember that every step is sacred but the movements on the mat are almost inviolable and in the gym you understand a lot about how a person behaves even in life.

It may be useful to do some complementary bioenergetic sessions to work in the gym and integrate with a start to the practice of meditation. It could also be advantageous to talk to the person who leads the course : opening the heart is the best way to clear the shoulders and start to really love.

Finally, it is worthwhile to make a clarification: for many characters easy to anger the martial arts are indispensable. Discipline trains mind and body and keeps the instinctive center at bay, one does not give in to an incontrovertible anger but transforms it, like real alchemists, like real artists.

And this clarification is followed by another one: we are beings that have evolved through practices of self - awareness and wise use of the word . No martial gesture can ever replace a comparison, a true, sincere dialogue.
