What is VeganFest 2012?
The VeganFest 2012 is a young, international event that is already enjoying enormous success. It starts on Friday 27 April and continues until 1 May, after the great success of last year. It is held at the Palazzo Mediceo in Seravezza, in the province of Lucca. This is an important international event that concerns the vegan, animalist and ecologist world . After the great public success of the first edition, with over 17 thousand presences and 150 exhibitors, Lifetribu.com returns with a program entirely dedicated to ecology, sustainable, organic and above all being vegan.
The event will take place in the splendid Palazzo Mediceo of Seravezza, an elegant 16th century setting in Versilia, in the province of Lucca, on 27th, 28th, 29th, 30th April and 1st May, admission is free. The ancient palace will become a meeting and exchange point between the most authoritative international animal rights and humanitarian associations, the best natural food products, the most active companies in the world in terms of ecology and natural well-being. There will be operators, celebrities and speakers sensitive to the themes of everyday life according to a cruelty-free ethic.
The five days of Veganfest 2012
The program of the Veganfest 2012 is varied and articulated and spans entirely in the world of veganism. Interesting meetings, veg purchases, conferences and nutrition workshops are planned. Here are some examples. As a surprise, a great international chef who will prepare succulent vegan dishes and, inside the restaurant itself, the photographic exhibition "Nobili Scorpacciate Vegan" by Gianluca Acca. On permanent display will be the exhibition of photographs by Achille Jachetti, at the Arkad Foundation's exhibition gallery, in front of the Palazzo Mediceo in Seravezza. The artist will be present with thirteen large photographic canvases dedicated to the theme of vegetarianism.
The Milanese photographer chose a theme very close to him: thanks to the help of professional models, he wanted to convey the transposition of the flesh in the human body. This is because, as Jonathan Safran Foer writes in Eating Animals or "If nothing matters - Why do we eat animals?" : "When we eat meat produced on industrial farms, we literally live with tortured bodies. More and more that tortured body is becoming our ... "
Other photographic exhibitions will be on the Sea Shepherd Conservation campaigns in the world, on the protection of the ecosystem and whales, orcas, dolphins, seals, turtles, tuna. By IHP - Italian Horse Protection association; the posters of LINK Italia and the posters that tell the story of Amnesty International of its campaigns. And again an exhibition on the peaceful resistance of Falun Gong, a photographic exhibition by Tony Lamanna Art Studio entitled "Sguardi su Seravezza".
And yet a mix of events!
There will be theatrical performances and conferences in the halls of the Granducal Stables to cheer up the guests of the VeganFest. There will also be "Fruit & Raw Days", a large area dedicated to all raw food events.
This year the VeganWave area is special: for the first time a large stage will be set up, coordinated by a team of entertainment professionals, available to artists to guarantee performances, music and entertainment for all five days of the VeganFest 2012 .
And again exhibitions of painting, such as "Il Pensiero Animale" by Lorenzo Proca or "Primitiva Mente", by Federico Morellato. The "Area Circus", a Contemporary Circus Without Animals, the "barefoot track", or the Barefoot Tactile Path and, to great surprise, the VegSorriso Election 2012, a nice initiative born on the pages of Facebook: lots of girls, boys and girls animals of all kinds, will participate in the "VegSorriso" competition, so the best smile of the 5 days will be rewarded! Mothers area, dog area, laboratories and many other initiatives for all tastes will welcome big children, human and less human!
