Experience silence without discomfort

Attention: we do not understand silence as an accumulation of words that would like to be said but instead remain there to work inwardly creating feelings that are difficult to manage .

It is not self-censorship . Not even an excuse to stay in the shade and avoid trying, measuring yourself.

Silence: time and listening to inner movements

Silence is like doing children who close their eyes and find peace there. Silence is a welcoming night for words . And it is also the door to enter into communion with other souls in a profound way.

However, many words are said precisely for fear of this silence. Silence can weigh, annoy. It can generate further mental voices, unleash inexplicable feelings of guilt.

This is why work must first be done inside. Relate to yourself as you would with an abyss, as with a large forest. This should be done. Relate to yourself as a valuable area.

In this, physical practices where breathing brings the gesture (tai chi chuan, yoga, qi gong, free dance, etc.) can be very useful. Meditation is also a powerful and functional tool, which requires constancy and graduality.

Exploration of the sea is in the same sense. Have you ever tried diving? When you go into the water with someone, self-confidence strengthens . The same is true for group dives, where you are separated at certain times, but you observe each other at a distance. And the silence and the blue envelop, dissolve, enhance the memory of oneself.

How much does silence affect one's inner life?

Feeling in union with the whole

In fact, even a true sense of union with someone can often pass through silence. When, for example, a very intense relationship to two reaches "high temperatures", adding words would only lead to greater and perhaps not useful boiling. You should give yourself time to observe and hear the inner voice .

It is no coincidence that many couples in walking state decide to practice silence for at least a day or more a week. If you don't want to reach extreme levels that would add complications, you can still decide with your partner or partner to practice energy saving . And the words, which are actually breathless, take away so much energy.

We are in a historical phase in which children, animals and nature need us. There is no getting lost in small talk. It is a matter of entering into a new perspective, a possible change.

Each of us is a very small element of humanity. We are bits of total life . This in silence is understood very well and especially in the various meditation retreats, which in some phases of life may be necessary to bring us back to who we are and how intensely we can choose to live our true nature.

In some cases of altered states of consciousness (see holotropic breathing, for example, or in cases of transpersonal experiences), one may have the feeling of being more individuals in a single moment. I often recall an episode reported by Grof in his text "The Holotropic Mind". The great founder of transpersonal piscology reports the account that Rusty Schweickart made of the Apollo 9 flight.

"When you circumnavigate the earth in an hour and a half, you begin to understand that our identity is the one of the whole. This causes a change. [...] It almost becomes a special responsibility that tells you something about your relationship with it what we call life. "

In fact, the novelty makes its way in silence, as well as the surprise. We could say that silence is the premise, the vehicle, the source of inner transformation.

"The sound of silence", written by Achaan Sumedho, is a good text to start getting into yourself
