The sacredness of injury in martial arts and sports

The approach to sport and in particular to the martial arts today is aimed at achieving, at least for the majority, a physical and mental well-being. This is an assumption that is difficult to dispute. We should ask ourselves a question that is obvious and at the same time not fundamental, what is the concept of well-being that we want to derive? What are we looking for from these activities? Physical well-being, safety, emotional centering?

I think that, at least in the case of martial arts, and, in any case, in every sport, a well-being that goes beyond the physical plane is sought.

The martial adept, the passionate sportsman, seeks peace, understood as the balance of the spirit, we speak therefore of spirit, and not of matter, to be happy; matter can be bought spirituality no.

To rise in the spirit, what does it mean?

I think the first answer, which a modest practitioner, as I am, can offer, whether it is the renunciation of materiality.

Now it is known to acquaintances, even only by culture, that Gd, understood as via del Guerriero, regardless of art, teaches us to live physical death as an acceptable possibility, moreover it is also known that the acceptance of death it is a fundamental moment for any warrior; the renunciation of emotion, which could itself be the main reason for research.

But what does all this mean today?

The question is fundamental for all those who practice or study sports and martial arts; the question is this: every holy day I sacrifice my body and my physical essence for what?

Answer: through the Discipline I will rise in spirit, renouncing the matter, I will be a better Man.

The Spirit, I think, is in antithesis with the matter, therefore, whoever is preparing to walk the way of God should be ready to renounce matter as much as possible. Giving up the matter what can it mean for a materialist sportsman? Giving up on real estate, large assets or more modestly for money to subsidize training? This solution is very difficult and at the same time easy in today's society, where everything has a price. Does spiritual elevation also have it? How much are we willing to pay for the most sacred thing that belongs to this existential plan? What is the most important offer that we could immolate to the path of spirituality?

The answer is to give our earthly experience, consequently, in a lesser relationship, physical integrity.

It is known that every evolutionary step, every conquest, victory must, to be recognized as such, have been bathed by the sacrificial ritual of the main character. Sacrifice, sacrifice, sacrifice, not something to be avoided, but something to be accepted with an open heart, because it is a great moment of growth, of rebirth. A great step towards the pure spirit.

We will ask ourselves what the concrete meaning of this is; the answer is simple and at the same time hard: the one who faces the path of sport and even more of the Warrior, must be ready to give up.

Thing? He must renounce his own material plan, tending towards the artistic vision of the Masters of Arts (martial arts), or we have forgotten that we are talking about Arte. Mastery means not only perfection compared to known canons, but, above all, creative ability, elevation from standards.

The injury. Cabbage didn't want us! We would think; but to think of it, we could come to the conclusion that it is something essential, a small renunciation of the material self (body) in exchange for a spiritual Elevation, a true Sacrifice, where for it we do not mean a perverse term, of pain without purpose .

With this Sacrifice we intend to make important, Unique for us, a path, a journey, a Gd towards the elevation of the Soul that we martialists, sportsmen, or simply men, otherwise, would never reach.
