Strong stomach cramps, feeling of warmth overflowing, stress spilling onto the digestive system and allowing viruses to attack and put us out of action. In other cases we are faced with malabsorption syndromes, such as lactose intolerance, inflammatory bowel diseases (Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis), irritable bowel syndrome, celiac disease, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, nervous system disorders . In any case, we advise you to keep the single episode under control, without being alarmed, with the desire to understand what happens to the body through the analysis of feces.

A psychosomatic approach to diarrhea frames this disorder among those linked to the first relationships within the family nucleus and correlates diarrhea to constipation as disorders that often go in alternation: the first due to a feeling of surrender, the second to the rigid affirmation of a self that struggles to find its place in the world.

Once the cause has been ascertained, if it is an episode without further complex background, it can be considered that there are valid natural remedies against diarrhea .

Natural remedies for diarrhea: hypericum and blueberry

I erico ( Hypericum Perforatum L. ), also known as St. John's wort, is a herbaceous plant widespread throughout Europe, North Africa, and Western Asia. Small curiosity: the name hypericum means "above the image", for the ancient use of hanging it over the sacred image to ward off evil demons, perforatum because the leaves appear perforated against the light. The flowering tops are used to prepare infusions and decoctions. Known for its natural antidepressant-tranquilizer properties, it is also an excellent antiviral and raises the immune system. Also excellent for attenuating digestive disorders and cases of diarrhea: in these cases, infusion hypericum flowers (herbal tea) are used, the prescribed dose is 1 g. of dry extract in 100 ml. of water, 1-2 cups a day. You can also use 1 teaspoon after meals of hypericum alcohol tincture, soaking for 5 days. 20 g. in 100 ml of 20 ° alcohol.

Another worthy natural remedy against diarrhea is a typical fruit of the undergrowth, the blueberry (Vaccinium Myrtillus) is found in three different species: black, red and blue. It contains sugars and many acids, in particular citric acid (which protects the cells) but also oxalic acid, hydrocinnamic and gamma-linolenic acid. The black bilberry is particularly rich in folic acid (a very important vitamin for the various numerous functions it performs) and contains anthocyanin tannins and glucosides, which in addition to giving the fruit its characteristic color, strengthen the capillary structure. To prepare an herbal tea against blueberry diarrhea you need 4 tablespoons of dried blueberry to boil in a liter of water for five minutes; let it rest for another 5, then strain and consume two cups away from meals. For children we recommend halved doses.
