Kanten: what it is
Kanten is a preparation whose main ingredient is agar agar.
Kanten can have the shape and texture of a gelatin, but it can also be used as a natural remedy in the form of a hot drink.
Agar agar is, along with other algae, an ingredient in macrobiotic nutrition, a food that uses food as a "cure" and a remedy to preserve and regain a state of balance and health.
It has chelating properties, ie it is able to bind to itself toxic substances in the stomach and intestines and expel them through the faeces.
Agar agar is also rich in minerals, phosphorus, calcium and iron, and B-complex folate vitamins, it is low in calories and also suitable for those suffering from diabetes and celiac disease .

The benefits of the kanten drink are many:

Ingredients
> Agar agar, powder or flakes;
> unsweetened and unfiltered apple juice, possibly organic.
Agar agar is found in macrobiotic or specialized food stores in the form of powder, flakes or bars.
Preparation
To prepare the drink, use a cup of non-sweetened and organic apple juice, a teaspoon of flaked algae (much less if powdered: do not add enough of a teaspoon) and a small saucepan .
Let the seaweed melt in the apple juice until it becomes transparent, over low heat and stirring.
It will take about 3-5 minutes, after which you drink warm or warm, before the seaweed gels the apple juice and becomes cold.
