Camellia seed oil, benefits and use



Camellia seed oil is a natural vegetable oil, produced from the seeds of the Camellia oleifera flower, an oriental plant belonging to the Theaceae family.

The plant, with flowers ranging from white or mottled white to deep pink and red, extends from southern Japan to Korea and southern China. From around 1700 Europe knows this shrub, which has also spread to America, Australia and South Africa.

The extraction of the precious oil takes place through the cold pressing of the seeds, usually, and is a sign of product quality, without the use of additives or chemical solvents.

Benefits of camellia oil

Camellia seed oil is mainly made up of poly and mono unsaturated fatty acids ; the remainder are saturated fatty acids, palmitic and stearic.

It has a notable presence of tocopherols, polyphenols and natural i antioxidants, particularly rich in vitamin A and vitamin E.

It is a clear oil, with a delicate, fluid and light consistency, with a slight delicate odor. Penetrates immediately into the skin and is not greasy .

The retinol contained in vitamin A stimulates the production of collagen, while the vitamin E tocopherol cancels the action of free radicals and blocks the events that determine the oxidative stress of the cells.

In particular, its action is even more important where there are problems or minor skin disorders, such as acne, skin spots, seborrheic dermatitis, enlarged pores; natural antiseptic, it is a valid adjuvant for the treatment of stretch marks.

Use camellia oil for the hair

Japanese women traditionally know the healing and polishing power even against hair: it deeply nourishes dry ends and gives softness and silkiness to dull, lifeless and opaque hair, so it is an excellent nourishing treatment, especially for those with long hair.
