How to prolong the regenerating effects of holidays



Summer has given many of us a break from the daily routine. A regenerating pause, from which you come out fuller, relaxed and energetic. On vacation, in fact, we give ourselves permission to stop or slow down, and this allows us to (re) tune in to us and become aware of things that have escaped us during the daily races.

Probably you too, like many, now back from vacation, have promised yourself to carry forward the new resolutions elaborated during the summer and to conserve the energy laboriously conquered during the summer break. However, slipping back into routine and everyday greyness is very easy and - alas - very frequent. And yet, the solution is there and consists of (continuing to) take small, nutritious breaks .

I know, it may seem complicated, but I want to suggest 3 things you can do to start trying, waiting for the next holiday moment.

1. Focus on what fed you most this summer

Does the credit go to your affections? Discovering a passion or a hobby? A space / time all for you? Whatever it is, it's probably what you tend to neglect the most during the working year, a luxury you think you can do without.

In essence, neglecting what you have rediscovered in the summer you have not taken care of your need (of relationship, fun, intimacy, etc.), which once satisfied has allowed you to feel regenerated and peaceful.

2. Find a time of day when you can dedicate yourself to your luxury

It should not necessarily be a long time, it can even take just a few minutes. If, for example, giving space to your relationships is what fed you most in your summer break, you can continue to do so with a short phone call, a message, or a caress, a hug, a brief exchange.

You will give yourself the chance to cultivate a luxury - and satisfy a need - that is regenerating for you and you won't risk putting it on standby until next summer!

3. Turn your luxury from occasional to automatic!

Dedicated to your luxury with constancy, take the time you need to satisfy the need that could become, otherwise, urgent - simply because it is ignored.

It is one of the ways you can take care of yourself even in times when you believe there is no time and space, because you give priority to other important and equally fundamental things. Fundamental like you and your needs!
