Centella asiatica leaves contain triterpene saponins (asiaticoside, osiasiaticoside, bramoside, centelloside), essential oil, flavonoids, phytosterols, tannins, mineral salts and sugars.

Description of the plant
Centella is native to India and Madagascar, it is cultivated in China, India, Africa, South America. It grows in damp and shady places, typically along streams or marshy ground.
Perennial herbaceous plant, it has a creeping stem and propagates thanks to its adventitious roots. The long petiole leaves arranged in rosettes of 4 or 5, are orbicular or reniform, of gray-green color.
The violet flowers with reddish shades, appear in the axils of the leaves, are gathered in small umbrellas.

Centella mother tincture is prepared with a drug weight ratio : 1:10 solvent and 55% alcohol by volume .

The mother tinctures have no contraindications except those of the plant itself, diluted in a little water can be administered to all, the alcohol contained in them is thus diluted, so it is harmless.
When taking centella-based preparations, it is a good idea to limit direct exposure to sunlight as photosensitivity can occur .
Internal use: 30 drops in a little water three times a day before meals.
