Intimate hygiene: do-it-yourself natural products

The intimate parts, especially the female ones, represent a very delicate area whose balance must be respected to avoid the onset of inflammation, bacterial and fungal infections that can cause itching and even recurring discomfort.

A good intimate cleanser must therefore maintain the balance of the mucous membranes as unaltered as possible and contain delicate surfactants, softening hydrolates such as rose, orange blossom, chamomile or linden and soothing and moisturizing extracts of mallow or aloe vera.

It is possible to prepare an ecological and natural intimate detergent using simple ingredients that are easily available in herbal medicine : let's see some recipes.

Personalized intimate cleanser

The easiest way to prepare a personalized intimate cleanser according to your needs is to get a neutral ecological detergent with pH 4.5 and no scents to add pure Aloe vera gel and one or more essential oils.

Among the essential oils indicated for intimate hygiene we find

> the essential oil of tea tree and the essential oil of thyme with antiseptic and antifungal properties to be used to prevent and fight bacterial infections or due to fungus;

> the essential oil of lavender and the essential oil of chamomile have instead a soothing action in case of irritation and inflammation;

> Mint essential oil is finally refreshing and helps prevent the formation of odors.

You can choose from one to three different essential oils.

The doses of the ingredients are:

> 80 grams of neutral ecological detergent

> 20 grams of Aloe vera gel

> 10 drops of essential oil of your choice

Add the aloe gel and the oil or essential oil drops chosen to the neutral detergent and mix well with a teaspoon. Pour the detergent into an empty, well-cleaned dispenser and use the product as usual.
