Earth Day 2015: April 22 celebrates the 45th World Earth Day, with more than 190 countries included in the event, up to a billion people involved. This date has celebrated and emphasized the need for conservation of the natural resources of the planet in which we live since 1970 .
The goal of World Earth Day
Born as a university movement, Earth Day has become an educational and informative event . There are in fact various groups and associations that are fighting for the well-being of the planet, evaluating and bringing to light crucial problems, such as the pollution of air, water and soil, the destruction of ecosystems, the disappearance and extinction of plant species and animals and the exhaustion of non-renewable resources .
The goal of this day is to create a collection point for solutions that can eliminate the negative effects of human activities .
For this reason, material recycling, the conservation of natural resources such as oil and fossil gases, the prohibition of using harmful chemicals, the cessation of the destruction of basic habitats such as wet forests and the protection of endangered species emerge as important issues .

- Rome - Circus Maximus, April 22nd. Food for everyone at the friendly country market . - Cefalù - In Cefalù, Palermo, the event Earth Day Cefalù will take place for the third consecutive year , from 18 to 22 April 2015, promoted by the Municipality of Cefalù and in collaboration with Earth Day Italy. The aim of the third edition is to identify Earth Day Cefalù as an international sports tourism event that attracts hundreds of athletes and enthusiasts from all over Europe, and not only: 10 km running race in the historic center (second stage of Running Sicily 2015), races of Orienteering and free style skating on rollerblading (inline skates) on the Lungomare di Cefalù, to emphasize the importance of outdoor sports in an eco-sustainable lifestyle in line with the Green Economy . Events are also remembered in other areas of Sicily.
- Salerno - The Salerno students section of AISA-Italian Association of Environmental Sciences celebrates World Earth Day with the event "EARTH WEEK UNISA 2015" . A week full of meetings, where seminars will be held on the waste cycle, material recovery and renewable sources, visits to waste selection platforms such as the Nappi Sud (Battipaglia) and the composting plant of the municipality of Salerno, to give everyone the opportunity to see and touch the management of what is increasingly seen as a new resource: waste.
- Foligno - From 20 to 24 April the Diocese of Foligno celebrates the Earth Day with the initiative "Young ideas for the territory" within the Project Citizens of the World - "The factory of ideas". Among the events planned are meetings on the theme of the eco-mafia in collaboration with the Free Association of Foligno and workshops dedicated to the themes of work and youth entrepreneurship . Wednesday, April 22nd, the earth is celebrated with the "Abbraccio alla città" event.
- Cremona - The association for social promotion The Earth in the Heart of Cremona celebrates World Earth Day on April 22 with the students of the Bruno Munari Art School of Cremona.
