7 essential oils for hair care in the summer



With the right essential oils we can create our own shampoo, lotion or oil to cleanse, protect and nourish skin and hair in summer .

Here is what they are and how to use them.

Essential oils for summer hair: the base for shampoo, nourishing mixture and lotion

Ingredients:

> a neutral shampoo without parabens and foaming agents

> a silky oil such as argan oil or linseed oil,

> a little vodka

> water.

Preparing the shampoo : in a soup spoon mix the argan oil and 15 drops of the chosen oil, pour the spoon mixture into the neutral shampoo bottle and shake it to mix it well and our detergent is ready.

Nutrient mixture : In an empty bottle we put 100 ml of argan or linseed oil and add 15-20 drops of essential oil, shake the mixture and also our nutritious mixture is ready.

And finally the lotion for skin and hair : in a 100 ml bottle 40 ml of vodka and 60 ml of water and 15 drops of essential oil of your choice, we mix the "potion" to make it well balanced and ready for use.

Now that we know how to create the bases, let's see which essential oils to use for the many needs that each of us has.

Essential oils for oily hair and dandruff

1. Tea tree essential oil

Tea tree essential oil is a powerful antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral. It carries out an anti-inflammatory, healing and immunostimulatory action; it is indicated for many skin disorders, including excess sebum and dandruff.

We can then mix it with our neutral shampoo for degreasing washes and use it in lotion to rub on the scalp: it eliminates dandruff and itching, disinfects the skin and regulates sebum production. Not everyone loves the scent, very intense and pungent. It can be mixed with lemon essential oil.

2. Lemon essential oil

Lemon essential oil is an antiseptic, purifying, anti-inflammatory, astringent; it is indicated for problems of oily skin, acne, brittle nails, dermatitis, dandruff .

The Lemon contains an important share of vitamin C, which strengthens the immune system against infections, is rich in mineral salts and plays an alkalizing activity for the right balance of the tissues. We can mix lemon essential oil with our shampoo and lotion to be used daily to deeply cleanse the scalp and control excess sebum.

3. Lavender essential oil

Lavender essential oil has anti-inflammatory, decongestant, antiseptic and healing properties ; it is indicated for many cutaneous affections like acne, redness, mycosis, dandruff . Its scent is pleasant, fresh and floral.

The essential oil of lavender can also be added to other blends of oils for different uses: it brings its antibacterial benefits without altering the properties of other essential oils. We add it to the shampoo, the lotion and also the nourishing oil, for the health of the hair, the root and the scalp.

4. Essential oil of Clary Sage

The essential oil of Clary Sage with a herbaceous, slightly spicy aroma has anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, rebalancing, anti- perspiring properties .

Performs a similar estrogenic action; it is indicated in case of seborrhea, hair loss, greasy hair, hypersudation of the scalp. It is contraindicated in pregnancy and in the case of diseases related to an excess of estrogen.

We can combine the essential oil of Salvia with our shampoo and lotion to be used every day to strengthen the hair from the root and make it shiny and revitalized.

5. Thyme essential oil

Thyme essential oil has antiseptic, antioxidant properties, stimulates circulation, is a nervous tonic ; it is indicated in all cases of physical and mental asthenia, in the presence of skin infections, hair fragility, depletion of the roots.

Added to the shampoo and lotion it acts as a powerful strengthener, disinfects the scalp and nourishes the root .

6. Ylang-Ylang essential oil

The essential oil of Ylang ylang with its sweet and heady scent has anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, calming and softening properties . It is indicated to nourish dry, brittle and dull hair.

In addition to customizing our shampoo with Ylang – Ylang essential oil, we can create our own protective oil, also excellent for healing split ends . In the Moluccan Islands it was used together with coconut oil to create a protective mixture for the hair against salt, and it is a fundamental ingredient of the formula to create Macassar oil.

7. Sandalwood essential oil

Sandalwood essential oil is characterized by a woody, sweet and warm scent. It has anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, toning properties; it is indicated for treating the skin and hair from dehydration, dryness, cracking, deeply nourishing the hair, restoring its integrity and combating split ends.

We can combine Sandalwood essential oil with our triad of aids, shampoo, lotion and oil to cleanse, tone and nourish devitalized hair from the sun, salt and sand.
