Vegetable carbon, dosage and contraindications

Vegetable carbon is a very useful remedy to detoxify from possible food poisoning or poisoning caused for example by the ingestion of inedible mushrooms.

This so effective action is due to the porosity of the coal activated by the combustion procedure at very high temperatures, around 600 ° C, without the presence of flame of the wood and the like, and by the ex post treatment to which the coal thus obtained is subjected.

In fact vegetable charcoal has the prerogative of " adsorbing " and not only of absorbing: it means that through its porosity the toxicities are incorporated and retained, to then be transported in a mass unassailable by acids and brought up to the colon to be expelled .

In addition to this important anti-toxic effect, charcoal is also used to adsorb gastric and intestinal gases, due to malabsorption, gastritis, aerophagia, meteorism, but also to stop forms of diarrhea caused by gastrointestinal virus infections.

Vegetable Coal: how much to take on it

Doses and methods of taking Vegetable Coal depend on the indications for which it is taken.

> For abdominal tension due to digestion : we recommend taking charcoal immediately after meals of 50 to 100 mg daily, depending on the complexity of the disorder.

> For swelling of intestinal origin : it is recommended to take vegetable carbon far from meals, from 100 to 200 mg daily .

When Vegetal Coal is prescribed to absorb the gases from food assimilation, it is possible to associate it with carminative herbs that help the gastric functionals such as fennel, cumin, mint, facilitating digestion.

    Vegetable charcoal: contraindications

    > The use of charcoal has not shown toxicity, but should not be taken for excessively long periods, because it can cause constipation. It is in fact not recommended for those who habitually suffer from constipation and whose intestinal peristalsis is slow and a little sleepy.

    > Vegetable charcoal is not recommended for those subjected to pharmacological treatment because its adsorbent capacity could reduce the effectiveness of the therapy.

    > Vegetable charcoal is contraindicated in the case of emetic drugs, ie those that facilitate vomiting, to detoxify an organism affected by poisoning.

Warnings : the intake of Vegetal Coal produces as a result the appearance of black stools, a phenomenon that disappears a few days after treatment is suspended.
