Carrots ( Daucus carota ), rich in flavonoids and vitamins, are valuable foods to keep the intestines and eyes clear . Let's find out better.
Properties and benefits of carrots
Carrots are vegetables rich in carotenes, substances that the body uses for the production of vitamin A, important for various functions of the body, in particular for the visual function.
Whether you eat them cooked or raw is the same, because cooking does not affect the usefulness of the carotenes, as they are resistant to heat. Indeed, since most of the carotene is found in fiber, preparing them with a short cooking frees the beta-carotene from the fibrous cells.
Carrots are very indicated in infant feeding because they contribute to the absorption of liquids in the intestine. They are also a good source of flavonoids, antioxidant pigments that act positively on the cardiovascular system.
