What is anemia
Anemia is a condition of the organism characterized by a decrease in the number of red blood cells present in the blood and / or in the quantity of hemoglobin, a pigment of red blood cells containing iron, which carries oxygen from the lungs to the tissues.
The causes of anemia
In most cases anemia occurs due to blood loss, hemoglobin and iron, for example following peptic ulcer, hemorrhoids and in women suffering from menorrhagia and metrorrhagia.
The people most at risk of anemia are women of childbearing age, pregnant women, nursing mothers, sportsmen, children and adolescents.
