Properties of the essential oil of lime
Lime essential oil has significant health benefits. This is due to its remarkable properties that make it an excellent remedy as an antiseptic, disinfectant, tonic and antiviral. Therefore, find the following general guidelines:

Description of the plant
The lime, better known as Lime ( Citrus aurantifolia ) is a citrus fruit of the genus Citrus, belonging to the Rutaceae family . It is probably a hybrid of cedar and lemon .
The lime tree can reach 5 meters in height. It has small and round fruits with a thin skin. The fruits are still picked green, but when ripe they have a yellow-orange color. The pulp has a decidedly sour taste due to its high citric acid content.
When left to mature, they almost completely lose their acidity to become yellowish and very sweet. The lime is cultivated above all for the production of the essential oil that is obtained from the peel.
How to use essential lime oil
Lime essential oil is extracted by cold compression of fresh lime peels or by steam distillation of its dried skins.
Lime essential oil is widely used in aromatherapy as a skin tonic. It has remarkable antibacterial and disinfectant properties that make it a good remedy to counteract skin imperfections, to prevent and fight cellulite thanks to its decongestant action on the circulatory system.
- Fatigue and asthenia, its fresh and fruity aroma allows to instill stimulating and at the same time relaxing effluents. The essential oil of lime, if inhaled by essence vaporizers (ie candles, nebulizers and air fresheners) instills a sense of general well-being .
- Stimulates digestion, carminative and diuretic.
- In case of warts rub with pure oil twice a day. Continue the treatment for at least six weeks, as warts can be very tenacious.
- Throat inflammation : gargle with 2 drops in a glass of warm water.
- In case of weakness of stomach and lack of appetite, it helps to stimulate the secretion of gastric juices and appetite, 2 drops on 1 teaspoon of honey to let melt slowly in the mouth.
Contraindications of the essential oil of lime
Lime essential oil is neither toxic nor irritating. However, it is photosensitizing, so do not apply it to the skin before exposing yourself to the sun.
Background
