The biodynamic diet

The biodynamic diet: what is it?

The biodynamic diet represents a healthy and conscious way of eating, a knowledge that is at the same time that of one's body and what it needs and the foods that combine to satisfy its needs. The biodynamic diet is a special diet, which, from its origins, therefore from the products it uses, follows the path of the moon.

If we think that already, in modern society, feeding according to the rhythm of the seasons is no longer so immediate, we think a little what it can even mean being aware of following the lunar cycles!

The biodynamic diet: where does it come from?

The biodynamic diet was conceived by the Austrian philosopher Rudolf Steiner in 1924. The principle is based on the effect that the moon's cycle has on the biological activity of plants, and consequently on its contribution to man . In essence, in the ascending phase we find the crescent moon, the sap rises in the stem of plants.

While in the descending phase the nutritive principles descend towards the roots, we are in the waning moon phase.

According to the principles of the biodynamic diet, leafy vegetables should be harvested when the moon is growing, while roots and tubers when the moon is waning, so the nutritional properties are exploited to the maximum, at the same time favoring the natural cycle of the moon and nature, not going against it.

Who supplies biodynamic products?

Many farmers in the world, still few in Italy, are experimenting and obtaining excellent results from biodynamic production.

This allows, in some countries of Northern Europe, for example, to have naturally biodynamic products at a lower cost.

Although a silent and non-advertised current is in place, returning to respect for nature and as far as it follows, in Italy biodynamic products are still quite expensive.

Why can a biodynamic diet do you good?

If we think about health and maintain a farsighted vision on the world and on the beings that inhabit it and inhabit it, as did the humanist Libereso Guglielmi, for example, we really realize how much a biodynamic diet and diet is fundamental for universal well-being.

Man is in fact composed of three apparatuses, which we can identify biodynamically as: the neurosensory system (head), the rhythmic system (chest, heart and lungs), the abdominal system and the limbs. When a part of this great system is ill, the other two devices are automatically affected.

This deep connection sees scientists and witty men in agreement.

If we consider foods, according to the biodynamic diet, these can be divided into three main categories, based on the substances that compose them: proteins, fats, sugars . The point on which the biodynamic diet insists is that we must feed ourselves by supplying the right amounts of each of these substances, otherwise we will get sick.

To simplify, carbohydrates and salts are needed to rebalance the neurosensory system; fats and leaves for the heart and lungs; proteins and fruit, better if raw, for the system of parts and limbs. But it's not that simple!

To explain how important a biodynamic diet can be for a man's physical and spiritual body, not a hundred pages would suffice. What we can imagine is that food is only a means that gives us the universe to supply its own energy, a "cosmic food" that is important to respect, even before ingesting it.
