The dangerous (?) Falun Gong

The interest was already born when a person very attentive to ancient and new forms of work on energy and meditation had submitted to me the official website of Falung Gong . Then, here in London, finding myself in a health research center, I read these words: " Falun Gong is a totally peaceful system of thinking that raises the quality of the level of moral behavior", Lord Avebury, UK Parliamentary Human Rights Group.

Intrigued, I went to look for other quotes. It seems that a certain David Kilgour, first Secretary of State of Canada, has declared that " The regime in China, without real reasons if not due to paranoia, in Falung Gong sees and has seen a threat since July 1999, the year in which mass actions were launched to eliminate these groups of practitioners. " immediately and the desire to read up also.

What is Falun Gong

I don't know if you have ever tried some Chinese energy exercises known as Qi Gong. They care for the body, heat and massage internal organs and create a deep contact between the person and his breath . I practice these exercises with a certain regularity, but I have never heard of Falun Gong. It seems to be a practice made up of very slow movements deriving from the same tradition of other more popular Qi gong exercises. They are described as practices that improve health, vitality and harmony .

These exercises carry the principles of a philosophy that does not have a specific name but rests on three pillars: Truth, Kindness, Tolerance . (In all the sites and brochures that I found, the values are indicated with a capital letter, so I stick with it).

In summary, those who practice them should become more honest, develop a certain humility and a sense of inner peace to spread around the world.

Falun Gong or Falun Dafa ?

Searching and researching, here is that besides Falun Gong, I find another Falun Dafa name. After a brief search I understand that this is the same practice. Made public in 1992 by Mr. Li Hongzi, it is said that in 1998 practitioners had already grown to 100 million.

Who is this Mr. Li Hongzi? The founder of a method that he himself claims can foster assimilation to the highest qualities of the universe - Zhen 真 Shan 善 Ren 忍 . This seems to be precisely the point of the practice: to know deeply, therefore, in some way, to "resemble in spirit" to those that are the qualities that belong to the universe: the aforementioned Truth, Kindness, Tolerance. In the reference site there are also serial exercises performed by Li Hongzi himself.

The ultimate goal is very similar to enlightenment, and by the term is to be understood that form close to the non-form of the Tao, or a way of "making Tao", becoming "the Way". This is a series of references that belong to the Taoist tradition.

Falun Gong and the Chinese Communist Party

In all the flyers I found in London related to Falun Gong - which, as it is claimed, were created, printed and paid for by volunteers - there is talk of a direct attack on practitioners of the system by the Chinese Communist Party. The noun that occurs is precisely "persecutions", the one that the Party would have launched against practitioners, first in a more bland manner and then, from 1999, in a more resolute and resolute way. Generic data related to a 2005 UN document are reported which would indicate that among the torture cases at least 66% reported the names of Falun Gong practitioners.

These flyers bear the names and faces of massacred or disfigured practitioners. It is also reported of the widespread practice of recovering the organs of the killed practitioners and then assigning them to transplants.

We will continue to look for information on crime and the therapeutic nature of these exercises ...
