The Isola dei Conigli, tailor-made campsites
Easily reachable in a couple of hours from Milan, like a natural jewel immersed in the mountains of the lower Garda, pride of the Brescia part of the lake, here is the small islet of San Biagio, also known as Isola dei Conigli, rising among cypresses and crystal clear waters del Garda - something that must be specified so as not to be confused with the charming beach of Lampedusa of the same name !.
Reaching the Isola dei Conigli in campers is easy and comfortable and you will be fascinated by the small villages around, such as Manerba itself, viable roads, services and facilities on site. Here not only the tourist, but also the camper traveler seems particularly appreciated. In addition to the famous San Biagio campsite, right next to the island, there are also other adjacent, well maintained and equipped campsites, some even with a swimming pool.
From the inside of the San Biagio campsite - for this reason the price is slightly higher than the other campsites - it's off to a little fun adventure : equipped with rubber shoes for walking on the stones, it is easily reached, in a few minutes and on foot, the 'private island of San Biagio.
A walk of about ten minutes, between little fishes and crystal clear water that arrives just above the knees at the highest point, will take you directly to the shore of the small island. The advice, to see the numerous bunnies, the only inhabitants of the island, in the company of their children, go there around 9 am or in the evening from 6.30 pm. Please do not forget to also load the bikes . From Punta Blevedere to Pinta Portese, the gentle ups and downs will take you to visit the center of Manerba, its old fortress and various beaches, such as Porto Dusano, Torcolo and Romantica. A boat trip instead will take you to visit the other islets, such as the Isola del Sogno, the Isola di Trimelone, the Isola dell'Olivo or the larger Isola del Garda .
And if you love history, a stop at the return is a must in Salò, between the cool arcades, the harbor and the walk along the lake.
Contraindications : the only drawback of this trip out of town, too loud music from the open-air discos that are part of the nightlife of this shore of Lake Garda. If you go here in the camping in August and you are not a heavy sleeper, be sure to get ear plugs!
