External hemorrhoids are veins that can become inflamed due to excessive strain: in these cases they swell and become thinner and more prone to injury.
When hemorrhoids become inflamed they cause pain and bleeding.
Calendula can be helpful in alleviating the inflammation of external hemorrhoids: let's see how.
Calendula for external hemorrhoids: benefits and uses
Calendula ( Calendula officinalis ) has important anti-inflammatory properties that can help to relieve pain caused by hemorrhoids.
Calendula extracts are useful for calming inflammation, reducing swelling and promoting tissue healing.
In the case of external hemorrhoids we can exploit the benefits of calendula by using it as an infusion for internal or external use, or use calendula extracts to prepare creams and ointments to be applied locally.
By constantly using calendula-based remedies we can therefore reduce the pain and swelling of external hemorrhoids.

Soothing cream for hemorrhoids
If you suffer from inflamed hemorrhoids you can prepare this simple emulsion cream to be applied locally to relieve pain and inflammation.
I remind you that to prepare a cosmetic at home it is necessary to work in a clean environment, using clean equipment and containers; homemade cosmetics must also be labeled indicating the ingredients and the preparation date.
Ingredients
> 34 grams of witch hazel water
> 10 grams of Shea Butter
> 3 grams of Olivem 1000 (emulsifier)
> 20 drops of mother tincture of arnica
> 20 drops of mother calendula tincture
> 20 drops of horse chestnut tincture
> Preservative (doses according to technical data sheet)
Preparation : weigh the witch hazel water, the shea butter and the emulsifier: place the shea butter and the emulsifier in a heat-resistant glass (or becker) and the witch hazel water with the preservative in another glass . Heat both glasses in a bain-marie until the emulsifier is dissolved; remove from the bain-marie and, when both compounds are at the same temperature, slowly pour the oily phase (shea butter and emulsifier) into the aqueous phase, mixing with a milk frother.
Once the emulsion is complete, add the drops of mother tincture of marigold, arnica and horse chestnut and mix. Transfer the emulsion into a clean, dry jar and let it cool to room temperature before using.
The preparation is kept at room temperature for three months, keeping it away from direct sources of light and heat; if after a few days or a few weeks you notice changes in appearance (color or consistency) that are not used in the product.
