The light trails that fill the sky towards the first ten days of August are also called " tears of San Lorenzo " on the occasion of the day when the Christian saint is commemorated: according to tradition, shooting stars in fact recall the embers of fire on which San Lorenzo he had been martyred.
But one can well say, and the astronomers support it, that it doesn't end all with the 10 of the month: the shooting stars can be seen also after San Lorenzo and in 2016 they will be particularly numerous .
The reason is simple: between the months of July and throughout August, the Earth passes through a cloud of debris that is found at the Constellation of Perseus, which is why the shooting stars are also called Perseids.
Position yourself after midnight well away, away from urban centers and areas of light pollution, possibly in the northern hemisphere, this is where you can best see the falling stars.
Here there are special places, romantic and unique, from where it is possible to observe this phenomenon, giving yourself a trip in the name of nature. Here are four really incredible ones in Europe.
