Beryl: all the properties and benefits



Beryl is a stone that has a detoxifying and revitalizing activity, useful for the balance of the nervous system. Let's find out better.

Description of the beryl

Mineral class: cyclosilicates, beryl family.

Chemical formula: Be3Al2 + (Si6O18) + K, Li, Fe, Mn, Na + (U)

Beryl forms in pegmatic rocks and is found in crystals of considerable size.

Its various colors are due to the presence of foreign substances: yellow, gold (heliodorus and chrysoberyl) and sometimes green-blue (aquamarine) are produced from iron, green from chrome (emerald), pink is produced by lithium and manganese (pink beryl). When it is totally pure it is called "gosenite".

Element

Water : the water element concerns the sphere of emotions and femininity (love, healing, compassion, reconciliation, peace, sleep, dreams and sensitivity).

Chakra connected to beryl

  • Third chakra Manipura ("Navel and Solar Plexus") for golden beryl (heliodorus and chrysoberyl);
  • Anahata fourth chakra ("Heart") for the emerald variety beryl;
  • Fifth chakra Vishudda ("Throat") for the beryl variety aquamarine.

Mythology

The word beryl probably has Indian origins and was known in antiquity as detoxifying and strengthening of sight, therefore it was used in the manufacture of glasses : in fact in German brille means "glasses".

Beryl has been used for a long time to increase mental capacity, so much so as to be called the seer stone. In 5th-century Ireland the diviners who used beryl spheres were known as "specularii".

In ancient times it was used to absorb poison, or to defend itself from poisonous tongues: in Il lapidario di Alfonso the Wise we read that if it is ground and the dust is placed on a poison, it boils like water on the fire, and so much the more the poison is strong the more its boil grows.

In the thirteenth century the figure of a frog was carved in beryl and the stone was brought to reconcile the enemies and to attract friendship.

Effect on the beryl body

For healing purposes, beryl was considered excellent in relieving liver pain, swollen glands and eye disorders.

It has a detoxifying, revitalizing and re-balancing action on the vegetative nervous system. It has the ability to stimulate bowel cleansing and helps the stomach to not produce acidity.

Effect on the psyche

The beryl makes persevering, efficient and at the same time versatile. Help the individual develop self-confidence, joy and patience.

Golden beryl and heliodorus have a harmonizing effect, they are effective against nervousness and emotional stress crises.

How to use beryl

The beryl can be discharged after use under running water.

As far as physical therapy is concerned, if you feel weak, take or carry a beryl, even for long periods.

For digestive problems it must be placed at the organ level, as well as for those at sight it is advisable to apply it in the evening on the eyelids.
