Meaning of Karma yoga

Karma is the "not doing in doing". Let the realities run smoothly. One acts without waiting for consequences or results in the short or medium term. Some call it the yoga of action, but this expression must be understood in its profound meaning, that is, act as moving in the world by offering the result of our actions to the Self, or to God, as one wants to call it.

Try to do what we have to do without being attached to victory or defeat, to success or failure.

Origins and philosophy of Karma yoga

In the Bhagavad Gita we read: 'The man who has realized his spiritual identity has no personal interests in fulfilling the prescribed duties nor does he have reason not to perform these duties. He does not depend on anyone for anything. We must therefore do our work and our actions out of duty, without attachment to the fruits of action, because by acting without attachment we reach the Supreme " (Bhagavad Gita, III, 18-19).

Karma yoga is a method of utilizing the potential of the mind . You learn to access this incredible strength and this knowledge. The benefits of Karma yoga

Karma-yoga teaches us to have no expectations, instructs us on how to work for the job, unattached, without worrying about what is done, it also teaches us why we should work.

Karma yoga works because it is its nature, because it feels that it is good for it to do so, and it has no goal beyond that. His position in the world is that of a donor, and he never worries about receiving anything. He knows that he is giving, and he asks for nothing in return, and therefore avoids the grip of suffering.

Masters and schools

The Vedic scriptures, on which all Indian philosophy and culture rests, are among the oldest in the world (2500 BC). They represent a compendium of wisdom in the field of knowledge of the human being on a physical, metaphysical and spiritual level and already contain references to Yoga.

The most important classical text of Yoga is the Bhagavad Gita (300 AD) which illustrates the five main Yoga systems of which Karma yoga is a part (together with the Jnana, Rajia, Bhakti, and Hatha yoga in its still rudimentary form) .

The karma yoga teacher will teach in principles of meditation and will not be limited to being absent or intermittently present, he will follow the student in a path of pure illumination.

Curiosity about Karma yoga

Patanjali, author of the "Yoga Sutras", who lived about three thousand years before Christ, explains that to reach serenity we must go through eight stages.

The first, Yama (abstinence) leads man to conditions that presuppose abstaining from immoral thoughts and acts, such as falsity, theft, murder, falling into passions.

The second, Nyama (observances) requires respect for inner and outer purity, escape from lust and vanity.

The third stage is the Asanas (positions), it is the practice of Hatha Yoga. The body firmly assumes and maintains positions that are pre-stressed for a long time, giving psychophysical well-being and leading to meditation.

In fourth place we find the Pranayama (domain of prana or vital energy), reachable by performing methods of psychic and rhythmic breathing, with this technique we regain possession of the correct use of our breath.

The fifth stage is Pratyahara (domain of the senses). The sixth is Dharana (domain of the mind). Dhyana meditation is in seventh place, at this point in the path we reach the ability to concentrate for a long time on an object or on the void, moving away every other thought.
