What the Feldenkrais method teacher does
The sequences proposed by the teacher of the Feldenkrais method are usually gradual. Become a Feldenkrais method teacher
The Feldenkrais method can only be taught by qualified teachers following a four-year education.
After successfully attending the first two years of the course and enrolling in the third, the trainee will have the authorization to teach " Know each other through the movement " for the purpose of personal learning and will qualify as a "teacher - student authorized to teach "Awareness through movement" lessons (group lessons) ". With the achievement of the diploma following a final exam, the student will be authorized to practice professionally both the teaching of "Getting to know each other through movement" and the manual technique of " Functional integration ".
In Italy the reference for the Feldenkrais method is the Italian Association of Teachers Feldenkrais Method ( AIIMF ), a non-profit professional association founded in 1987 which acts as guarantor of the formation of five schools for teachers of the Feldenkrais method in Italy.

The Feldenkrais method teacher in Italy and abroad
Developed around the 1950s, the Feldenkrais method began to spread in Italy in the 1980s by a few teachers trained abroad. These same teachers founded the AIIMF in 1987. In 1988, two training courses for teachers were started in Milan and Rome, concluded in 1992, which graduated dozens of teachers. To them we owe a further impulse to the spread of the method in Italy.
The diplomas obtained in the schools approved by the AIIMF are valid internationally and are recognized by all the national Feldenkrais associations . The training courses are authorized by the EuroTAB (European Training Accreditation Board - European Commission for the accreditation of training courses which, together with the NaTAB (North American Training Accreditation Board) and the AusTAB (Australian Training Accreditation Board) establish the rules and the international course standards.
