We are used to considering laughter as a natural reaction to something comical but the comedy is not the same for everyone: the jokes about the carabinieri do not make the carabinieri so much laughing, to some people the clowns are scary and others still feel a great sense of pity when someone slips on banana peels.
So what we usually call "natural laughter" is actually a laugh filtered by cultural conditions that, only because we are deeply rooted in our personal cultural model, we consider "natural".
But if, freeing ourselves from this cultural judgment, we observe laughter as a "physiological process", like breathing, we see that this super-breathing (because in fact laughter is a real super-breathing) activates
1) not only in particular the whole cardio-respiratory system, the diaphragm and the lymphatic system but also
2) all the abdominal muscles of the shoulders and face and if the laughter is particularly intense, too
3) the muscles of arms, hands, legs and feet that actively participate.
If we add to this the fact that intense and prolonged laughter triggers the production of all neuro-transmitters of well-being (endorphins and serotonin), of empathy (oxytocin) and regenerates the immune system, here is the Yoga of Laughter, born as practice to "laugh without reason", in the light of facts has a truly extraordinary reason: to offer us the possibility of activating health and joy of life in a completely autonomous way.
So laughter, taken in and of itself, is in effect a healthy, pleasant, complete and powerful aerobic exercise that involves the whole organism without stressing it in any way.
But we are not used to laughing "for no reason" and we are used to thinking that any goal we wish to achieve can only be the result of effort, effort and sacrifice, so it seems impossible that something as simple and pleasant as a banal laugh can have so powerful and healthy effects.
In reality, this insurmountable barrier that offers us the fatigue equation = reward, this limiting idea, for which only fatigue and suffering lead to a reward, while pleasure, at best, only wastes time with Yoga of Laughter quickly dissolves making us discover that each of us has the extraordinary possibility, by free choice, of deciding to stay healthy and be happy.
It is simply a question of training a little to reactivate first and then regenerate all our potential by directly taking on the responsibility-ability (ability to respond to trials) of our well-being and to make all the happiness that is already inside us flourish and we all know that happiness is all health.
Happy day with a healthy laugh
