Diet, sports and ... Chinese acupuncture

Diet, quiet and needles

The writer Jonathan Swift said that the best doctors in the world are diet, quiet and joy. True, but often stress and nervousness distract from good intentions, especially in terms of nutrition. Help can come from Chinese acupuncture, which fights anxiety, activates the endocrine system and stimulates metabolism. In essence, when the metabolism works well, the calories that enter are less than those that come out. An equation that is so simple as to seem almost disheartening, at least when it is psychological factors like anxiety and stress that overcome the diet. Here then comes into play Chinese acupuncture, the renowned therapeutic technique based on skin stimulation by needles and heat.

Acupuncture to rediscover serenity and form

The practice of needles is of great help in cases of overweight from nervous hunger. In fact, the insertion of needles at certain points increases the production of serotonin, endorphins and other wellness hormones and improves the response to stress. This reduces food anxiety and restores the relationship between hunger and satiety. The sense of hunger decreases because acupuncture is able to induce a state of tranquility, acting psychically on the sense of hunger.

How does acupuncture work?

Through the needles, the body's natural defenses are stimulated and the normal energy balance that regulates bodily functions is restored. The acupuncturist acts on particular sensitive points of the human body located along precise lines, the so-called meridians, through the stimulation with the fingers and with very thin needles. Acupuncture is a non-invasive therapy, completely painless and without contraindications; provided, of course, that you contact a specialist.

The doctor and the acupuncture points

The ideal is to rely on an acupuncturist specialized in weight control, in order to combine a personalized diet with acupuncture therapy. First of all, the acupuncturist will make a general visit to you, to ascertain your state of health, the energy level of the organism and the functionality of the organs that manage metabolism and purification: liver, spleen, stomach, kidneys, bladder, lungs, large intestine. Based on your personal characteristics, it will trace the map of the areas on which to operate with needles. However, there are some points along the main meridians that are always treated with acupuncture:

  • bladder and kidney, to help eliminate toxins and diuresis
  • stomach, small intestine and ears, to regulate the stimulus of hunger
  • the so - called ren-mai and heart channel, to stimulate the dissolution of fats

    Who to contact

Known and practiced for more than three thousand years, currently in Italy Chinese acupuncture is a practice of sole and exclusive medical relevance, as sanctioned by the sentence 6/4/1982 of the Criminal Court of Cassation. A list of acupuncturists, divided by region, is published on the website of the Italian Acupuncture Association.
