Feng shui for the bedroom

Feng shui: what is important to know

The alcove of the house, the nest where you spend hours in warm blankets and wrap-around sheets, where sometimes you can enjoy the rain or the arrival of the first rays of sun in peace: the bedroom is a really important place, not only according to Feng shui.

Let's dispel some myths immediately: it is not necessary to have the head always positioned to the north when sleeping; Feng shui - ancient Chinese art that studies how vital energy interacts with man, also flowing through the environments in which it lives - in fact gathers together a series of "rules" that are linked to the elements, the "Gua" numbers and the kind of person.

As illustrated by the site FengshuiPretaporter, one of the Feng Shui methods identifies people based on 8 types, which are associated with numbers (Gua) .

Each number / type is associated with 4 favorable and 4 unfavorable directions.

One of the first basic rules, however, concerns the positioning of the rooms : for the bedroom, this, being the most "to protect" part of the house, should be placed in a hidden, protected place, or at least not directly accessed with respect to the entrance door of the house.

Respecting Feng Shui in the bedroom

The guidelines to respect the dictates of Feng shui for a room that represents the nest of the house and that ensures the right relax, harmony and balance are these:

> Position the bed well. This should be located as far away as possible from the door; do not place the headboard on the same side of the door; this should be made of wood, to add to the element Earth benefit, safety and a sense of protection. Do not hang heavy objects such as large paintings or statues over the bed.

> Carefully choose a good mattress ; you never buy a used one, you will never know what kind of energy you have accumulated. Likewise, don't let yourself be tempted by the water mattress, rejected by Feng shui; or do not take a bed with drawers, which are convenient for storing things, but which do not allow air or energy to circulate.

> Minimize electronic and electrical equipment that generates electromagnetic energy, which prevents you from sleeping peacefully. If you need an alarm clock for the morning and it is electric, try to place it at least one meter away from where you sleep. No absolute to the TV.

> Do not introduce elements that bring you back to work in the bedroom : the computer, first of all, must remain outside. There should not even be mirrors: according to feng shui they disturb sleep and can "open spaces" to infidelity. No even to aquariums and fountains, they should be kept away from this room.

> If you have large windows, minimize them, they can create a "dispersed" feeling in the bedroom. They should therefore be restricted and made less intrusive by adding curtains on both sides of the window.

> Organize your bookshelf or bookshelf . If they are scattered and messed up, even books can be a source of bad vibrations in the room. Try to realign them by color or weight, putting the heaviest at the base.

> Order also among clothes : avoiding accumulations, disposing of clothes that are no longer worn, linearity and cleanliness are the basic watchwords.

> Resize the bedroom . According to Feng shui, bedrooms that are too empty and spacious can make you feel unsafe and do not ensure relaxation. Add small furnishings to fill the spaces, such as desks, chairs, lamps, bedside tables or armchairs. Similarly, ceilings that are too high are dispersive and make you feel vulnerable : try to fill the lower part of the bedroom, creating points of interest with cushions, rugs or vases. Attention, cozy room, but not overloaded with objects!

> Choosing relaxing fantasies, challenging colors, chaotic fantasies can make sleeping time difficult. Simple and round shapes, family photos, soothing colors like blue are great for the bedroom. It is also advisable to decorate with "coupled" elements, such as two identical statuettes, wedding photos or happy couples. But absolutely not to relatives or statuettes that seem to stare at you! They only create anxiety and tension.

> Avoid sharp corners that create a sense of danger . Prefer furnishings with soft and curtained corners, objects that have softer lines, such as lamps, ornaments or vases. Bring plants to the bedroom only if the room is very large, but they should be kept away from the bed.
