What is the Labririnto della Masone?
About 200 thousand bamboo plants make it the largest existing maze.
Born in its first form in 2015, the Labirinto della Masone - the name is linked to the Strada Masone on which it is built - is now a very respectable cultural park, which grew in width to occupy a route of over 3 km .
The 20 different species of bamboo are planted in that of Parma at the behest of the publisher and designer Franco Maria Ricci, more precisely in Fontanellato, an ancient village with the famous castle.
Here, about a quarter of an hour from Parma, you can stroll in the countryside, listen to music, sip a cocktail or a good beer and enjoy an eclectic art collection in the adjacent museum.
Special initiatives in the Masone Labyrinth
Next to the labyrinth there is a museum that houses: a collection of works of art, around 500, which winds along 5 centuries; some spaces for temporary exhibitions ; an archive and a library . There is also a Bistrò Caffé and a Parmesan gastronomy .
Here various events take place, both musical and artistic, just take a look at the page dedicated to future programming.
Environmentally friendly bamboo
Bamboo is not only an aesthetically beautiful and lush plant , supple, vigorous and elegant, but it is also an environmentally friendly plant : its strength is precisely the high photosynthesis that reduces carbon dioxide, restoring large amounts of oxygen.
The Franco Maria Ricci Foundation will provide advice to those wishing to get to know this plant up close, to entrepreneurs and enthusiasts eager to improve the aesthetic and environmental aspect of the territory.
As also announced on the Bambuitaliano.org website, bamboo can be used - as an evergreen plant - in urban areas and built to create real lungs of oxygen, as the plant is able to reduce air pollution and dust, acting as a noise and windbreak barrier.
And did you know that there is also World Bamboo Day?
