Neem oil is obtained by pressing the seeds of Azadirachta Indica, a plant native to the tropical and sub tropical areas of Asia. Thanks to the high concentration of vitamin E and essential fatty acids, it is an oil with powerful eudermic properties : it is nourishing, emollient, moisturizing, antioxidant.
But not only: alongside these characteristics is associated a demonstrated antibiotic, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and anti-parasitic action. It is therefore able to cope with bacteria, fungi, viruses, and all those skin diseases of exogenous origin, such as herpes simplex, the most common being the labial one: annoying and painful blisters that form on the lips or in the surrounding areas destined then to dry.
The Neem oil in this regard acts on 3 fronts:
1. with its antibiotic action counteracts the virus
2. thanks to its emollient properties it moisturizes and nourishes the labial mucosa which generally with the appearance of herpes dries up
3. with its antioxidant action it regenerates the mucosa tissue damaged by vesicles.
Neem oil is very concentrated, so a few drops are enough. The smell is not particularly pleasant, but it can be sweetened with an essential oil of an antiseptic nature, such as that of lavender, geranium or tea tree.
How to use Neem oil (external use)
You can create a powerful mixture against cold sores: a tablespoon of Neem oil in which to add 2 drops of essential Tea-tree oil. Mix with a simple cotton bud to use to apply the oil on both lips, making sure to leave the healthy mucosa first and leave the direct application on the herpes for last . Repeat this several times a day.
When the virus reaches the lips and manifests itself in reality it has already affected the oral cavity. It is therefore advisable to disinfect the part by gargling with a solution of 10 drops of Ribes Nigrum in mother tincture (natural cortisone) with 5 drops of Neem Oil and 5 drops of propolis tincture diluted in a Malva herbal tea.
Gargles are used to clean and disinfect, so it's a good idea not to swallow the solution!
As a preventive measure it is possible to enrich our cocoa butter stick with two drops of Neem oil, enhancing the simple gesture of moisturizing the lips with an antiviral action that protects the mucous membranes of the lips from inflammatory and bacterial agents.

The Herpes Simplex is forever
Herpes simplex labial is caused by the HSV-1 virus, a subfamily of the Herpesviridae and is manifested by papular vesicles that lurk on the lips or surrounding tissues. They are painful, unaesthetic, annoying for the movement of the lips.
Once this virus is contracted, it is married for life! It is sneaky because it happens in the cells of the ganglion of the trigeminal nerve, it is absent but present, ready to manifest itself at the cutaneous level when our immune system goes through a deficit phase, perhaps due to very heavy stress, psycho-physical fatigue, weakening from states flu, but also for sun exposure without protection, disorderly nutrition, climate change.
