Essential bath oils



Many of us prefer bathing in the shower, and actually when we have more time to care for our body, immersing ourselves in a hot bath also benefits our central nervous system .

Because then do not enhance and characterize the moment of cleansing with the right essential oils, to prolong the relaxing or energizing effect of the bath.

Essential oils for a relaxing bath

We see some oils that added to the warm water of the bath are able to relax body and mind.

Lavender essential oil

Lavender oil is an essence with a floral, fresh, sweet and balsamic scent; it is a heart note, so it acts on our sensitive side . It has anti-inflammatory, analgesic, relaxing, antidepressant, hypotensive properties .

It is indicated in cases of nervousness, sleep disorders, depression, stress, muscle spasms, sciatica, skin diseases.

Lavender is a lunar plant, therefore particularly suitable for women and acts as a regulator of emotion, of too impulsive characters. Its action is so delicate that it can also be used for bathing children, to reassure them in the evening.

Bitter orange essential oil

Bitter orange oil is an essence with a fresh, bitter-sweet scent, a top note, so it acts on our rational side . It has calming, antidepressant, digestive and circulation-regulating properties.

It is indicated in cases of anxiety, insomnia, stress, psychosomatic digestive disorders, heart palpitations, muscle spasms.

Bitter orange is a remedy of yang nature, invigorating, but at the same time relaxing, because it acts on our rational part, the one that sometimes envelops us in heavy circular thoughts, with no way out.

Ylang Ylang essential oil

Ylang Ylang oil is an essence with a floral, sweet and intoxicating scent; it is a heart note and acts on our emotional system . It has anti-inflammatory, hypotensive, calming heart and nervous system, aphrodisiac properties.

It is indicated in cases of depression, insomnia, nervous tension, tachycardia, accelerated breathing, sexual asthenia.

Ylang ylang is an essence of yin nature, very feminine, and helps to restore balance, to disperse feelings of anger, jealousy. It boasts aphrodisiac properties, loosens anxieties and fears related to the sexual sphere.

Essential oils for an energizing bath

There are essential oils that can give us the charge where we need stress: both physical and mental.

We can use them in the non-current water of the tank; in this case, in addition to diluting them in a tablespoon of carrier oil, we can also add them to a handful of coarse salt that is useful to counteract the exhaustion that a hot bath can cause.

Then we associate the re-energizing bath with the morning hours to start the day with a burst of energy.

Rosemary essential oil

Rosemary oil is an essence with a strong, vigorous and fresh aroma; it's a top note so it acts on our rational system. It has tonic, stimulating properties of the hepato-biliary system, stimulating the adrenal cortex, blood and lymphatic circulation, stimulating memory and concentration.

It is indicated in cases of psycho-physical fatigue, morning fatigue, tendency to hypotension, depression, apathy, excessive intellectual work, convalescence. Rosemary is an essence of a solar nature and stimulates vital energy, supports self-confidence, moves enthusiasm, strengthens will and fights sadness and apathy. It is an excellent muscle tonic, antirheumatic, helps to rebalance the asphyxiated and oily skin.

Scots pine essential oil

Scots pine oil is an essence with a fresh, resinous, forest-like scent. It is a base note that harmonizes with our body . It has physical and nervous stimulating properties, stimulating the adrenal glands, a decongestant for lymphatic circulation, anti-inflammatory, anti-rheumatic and hypertensive.

It is indicated in cases of diseases of the first respiratory tract, rheumatism, muscular pain, fatigue, convalescence, sexual asthenia. The dynamizing power of Sylvan Pine is linked to its male yang energy .

It is useful for those who tend to have low blood pressure, with forms of depression, apathy, inability to complete projects due to sudden physical exhaustion.

Clove essential oil

Carnation oil is an essence with a strong, warm, spicy, aromatic scent. It is a base note and heart that harmonizes with our physicality . It has antiseptic, antineuralgic, stimulating, nervous tonic, aphrodisiac properties . It is indicated in cases of neuralgia, colitis, physical and mental fatigue, decreased sexual desire.

It fights drowsiness, apathy, memory and concentration difficulties. Its strongly yang energy invigorates, warms and awakens the senses. A precaution in this case, since it is an irritating oil, it is good to dose it carefully and dilute it well in a carrier oil, even the simple cooking olive oil.

And for the shower?

If we do not have a bathtub but a shower, we can still use essential oils for cleansing and associate their properties with our needs.

In fact we can prepare the dose of a neutral shower gel in a small bowl and add 2 or 3 drops of the chosen essential oil .

We mix well and apply it to the body; we will obtain a scented foam and the vapors of hot water will include the volatile portions of the essences, a real aromatherapy shower.
