Shiatsu in aid against anxiety and states of agitation

Shiatsu and anxiety

Shiatsu is an excellent tool to approach the treatment of anxiety. In fact the reception approach and the ways in which a Shiatsu session is carried out are compatible with the general ill-disposed of the anxious subjects to be " put their hands on ".

One should not undress, one does not subject oneself to enveloping manual skills like those of a massage, which for those suffering from anxiety can be too intrusive.

Knowledge with the operator takes place gradually and you are guided in a very careful and respectful process of self - awareness . It is important to know how to choose the most suitable technique for us and our needs and resistances.

Usually those who suffer from anxiety are unable to control their breathing, which appears to be a short act, a short breath that does not stress the diaphragm, blocks the expansion of the chest, does not oxygenate the tissues correctly, causes muscle tension. level of the trapezius and neck.

The eye muscles become hypertonic, the posture is not centered because the center of gravity moves upwards and one is generally protracted forward, ready to face the world that " is about to fall upon us "!

In these conditions the reference organs that need to be "cleaned" and re-harmonized are generally the heart, the liver and the fears of the kidneys through their respective meridians. In any case, shiatsu treatment is a "sartorial " technique that must be customized with methods and times suitable for the recipient.

The treatment

Immersed in a particular setting, made of music at ethereal frequencies, delicate oil diffused in a delicate way, guided in a path of listening to one's own breathing towards its harmonization with the vital rhythms of the body, the Hara, home of the energy, but also of emotions (abdominal area just below the navel), often blocked in subjects subjected to stress, worries and anxieties.

From here the journey begins, the relationship of trust between shiatsuka and "healthy bearer of anxiety", which chooses to open up and release its fears, to free itself from the respiratory constraint to ignite the fire of Heart that will go to "burn the demons of Tomorrow ”, The anxieties in fact.

A Heart that is not in balance can clog or deplete the energies of the Liver, which is no longer able to calm down the forces of Water that govern the Kidneys. Through some katà (paths per step) of stress or sedation of the tsubo points (pressure points) along the meridians taken into consideration, the energy flows are reactivated and the imbalances are balanced.

The relationship with the operator

Shiatsu is relationship, it is harmonization, it is functional and spiritual rebalancing, it goes beyond the acupressure session: operator and receiver must work in synergy to restore balance .

Since I strongly believe in this practice, which I have studied but I do not practice (Shiatsu is suitable for everyone but not everyone can exercise as a shiatsuka and unfortunately I am part of this group), I advise to pay attention to some aspects related to operator who will treat you: his posture, his breathing, his speech, his look, his hands and the presence of his pressure.

Sometimes it is not possible to appreciate Shiatsu and its potentialities only because we have entrusted ourselves to an unsuitable operator, perhaps very theoretically prepared, but who has not yet operated or completed the change on himself in the first place!
