What is the mucus-free diet

Professor Arnold Ehret, known for having conceived the fruitless, mucus-free diet, was one of the first pioneers of the fruitarian diet in 1800 Germany.

The doctors had diagnosed him with an incurable disease, which led him with strength and obstinacy to seek solutions and to study alternative methods of treatment. For this he went to Berlin and later to Palestine, where he came into contact with a new and vital teaching, which led him to an understanding of medicine free from the heritage of the time.

Returning to Europe, he was cured for good and decided, given the acquired competence, to open a clinic in Switzerland. Arnold Ehret was an animalist and vegan.

Among his contemporaries we also remember Herbert Shelton, a pacifist, vegetarian, a supporter of raw food and therapeutic fasting, he was one of the founding fathers of the naturopathic current called hygienism or natural hygiene.

The main foods

All highly acidifying foods are excluded, which produce an internal inflammation that affects the limbs, organs and thoughts. Milk and dairy products fall into these categories. The same is true for starches such as starchy foods .

An Ehretist or faithful to the diet without mucus, if you prefer, eat fresh raw fruits and vegetables including oilseeds, nuts and some sprouted or soaked grains. There is an unlimited number of recipes of raw dishes prepared with these ingredients, with which you can make tasty pâté, bread, "tagliatelle", cakes, biscuits, crackers, soups, salads and marinated foods, without having to cook them.
