Experience training as a Zen meditation

Body training is sometimes experienced as suffering. Or a way too difficult to get involved. Find yourself in front of the mirror with that extra roll and think that summer is near. Suffering from competition (useless), but which often inevitably starts with the treadmill neighbor . And if it comes to healthy competition, so be it, but if the way you judge others is as heavy as what you judge yourself in the mirror, between lines and bags under your eyes and pads or "chicken wings" under your arms, then we are not there.

Training is sacred, you are redefining your body . You have to imagine painters who leave important marks on the canvas. We need to start from scratch at any time, without having expectations for results that will come, but that will arrive sooner if you drop any projection that creates anxiety.

The conscious bending, the meditative bending, the freerunning

Be present with every breath. Don't let your attention wander for the duration of a single breath. Remember yourself always and in every situation. Can we do it at the next hundreds or Pilates crunches ?

It is worth fighting with all extraneous thoughts. Keep your mind on what you are doing, both externally and internally.

Even the race can become an opportunity to be present to yourself feeling connected to the rest. We borrow a precious ingredient: an extract from the yogic philosophy of the one who developed integral yoga : "Try to realize the strength that is in you, try to get it out, so you will see that everything you do does not come from you but from that truth that is inside you ... because you are not you, but something within you. " ( Sri Aurobindo, 1872-1950). It is no coincidence that there are those who, like Tite Togni, have joined the yoga race in Yoga for Runners.

The book by Sébastien Foucan, " Freerunning. Find your way" (Edizioni Socrates, Rome 2010) also goes in this direction: "Life is movement and rhythm. But you can only find the rhythm by listening to your body and exercising, as long as you can do what you do without thinking "

And again, do the pull-ups, the push-ups and the push-ups or other gymnastic exercises remaining in the present moment, without going elsewhere.

Good training, remembering that becoming strong is not something that has so much to do with the performance of muscles, but rather with inner strength, which is built through constancy, irony, discipline and balance, in the diet and in relationship management. Something to tend towards. Without the anxiety of having to do it in a given time. With the passion for alternation, the body that thinks and the mind that dances ...
