The best memory of my holidays and hotel stays are ... breakfasts. Having breakfast at the beach is like a party: you're on vacation, everything is better and better. Or at least it seems. We use this privileged moment for the benefit of our health as well as the palate.

Don't we usually have breakfast because we're in a hurry? We learn on holiday to appreciate and give importance to this moment.

We take advantage of the holidays - perhaps in a distant country or in a different place than usual - to experiment with new foods and new ways of having breakfast. If we are at the sea we will need a special breakfast, which can help our body to face a sunny day, wind, heat and maybe even diving and swimming.

Here are the preferred foods for our breakfast by the sea:

> Fresh fruit, whole, in pieces in yogurt but also in the form of fruit salad, extracts or centrifuged . To supplement the physiological loss of mineral salts . To give a beautiful golden color to our tanned skin, we will then choose the orange fruit, rich in beta-carotene: melon, apricot, peach, mango. > Proteins, to stimulate the production of melanin (so the tan!) And to avoid glycemic peaks (let's remember even on vacation!). We will find them in soy drinks or yogurt, in almonds (to be added perhaps with yogurt), or in milk or yogurt (better the Greek lean one) vaccine or in eggs.

> Drinks, to properly hydrate our body: it will be great for warm or fresh green tea, or coffee (better to reduce the doses, because it could be too exciting and unsuitable for a hot day) for those who can't help it, or deflated infusions, fennel or mint refreshing . Choose according to your tastes and try new flavors .

> Cereals: better those in grains (puffed rice) or pseudocereals like quinoa and amaranth flakes, to add to yogurt, or oat flakes in a porridge.

> The greedy ones will choose small light desserts based on wholemeal flour, (better the one with the highest percentage of fruit) without creams or fillings to avoid overloading the already tested organism with heat, or bread (whole) and jam.

Breakfast on holiday by the sea: when and how

Let's see some suggestions to organize times and ways of your breakfast on holiday at the sea:

1. Never skip it! The rule, valid all year, is even more so in the summer. A small meal will be essential to ensure a good supply of liquids and mineral salts to avoid dehydration, cramps and sickness;

2. When to do it . We remember him from our childhood: the mother who shouted to us "you can't take a bath, you just ate!" For breakfast by the sea, if we are planning on swimming, the quality of the food will be important , be it light and easy to digest. You can take a bath either immediately or after about an hour and a half;

3. I'm on a diet : what do I eat? Make yourself a nice rule, for example, taste only one dessert a day, each day a different one. Make small portions and a round only at the buffet, if you are at the hotel.

4. How long? Take it easy, you're on vacation. Especially if you are used to skipping breakfast, allow yourself at least 15 minutes to prepare it and enjoy it calmly. The day will start in the best way.
