A day dedicated to sleep presupposes a long siesta from morning to evening, a strike from any activity - whether it is working, studying, playing sports or otherwise - to devote oneself solely and exclusively to the passive idleness, the idleness and the magical power of the bed and of the sofa.

The goal of the organizing body, or World Sleep Day Committee of World Sleep Society, is to celebrate the well-being resulting from a good sleep and to include important social aspects, such as education, medicine and road safety education.
