Poor Yoga, when the fundamentals are missing

We live in an age where yoga has become a fashion in its multiple versions.

Considering the times we are living, that is that we often need stimuli to move forward, find something that makes us feel good about ourselves, something original (more or less) we can accept a style different from traditional yoga, infuse the world it is full of people with different characters and characteristics so making yoga more creative and new can also be there!

Provided however that it is taught with traditional bases, this in order not to create confusion with the originality of this wonderful discipline.

I say this because some teachers, no matter how qualified, shape their lessons in a confused and superficial way, without the initial OMs, without the pranayama exercises, without shavasana during the lesson and without body warm-up exercises before starting the session. asanas.

Here, if you are missing just one of these components in a yoga class, you are not doing yoga: you are only doing unconscious movement.

Yoga, the fundamental bases

Yoga for those who do not know it is awareness and listening to oneself and one's body and it is precisely this awareness and this listening to the self that leads us to physical and psychophysical well-being.

A lesson without initial Om does not make us focus on the "here and now", which is the basis of the beginning of a practice. Breathing is a fundamental aspect for the mind and the body and knowing how to breathe helps us to live well and not to feel "fatigue" during practice, as well as preparing the body for asanas, a cold-made asana is risky because there you can do a lot of harm.

And the shavasanas ? Where do we put it? every Shavasana is important to make the body resume, especially after a dynamic yoga class. Relaxation, that is the time of recovery of the body, allows us not to tire ourselves and above all to get up the next day.

So, if you want to do yoga keep in mind that a correct and complete lesson is composed of these basic factors that will be part of your well-being during and at the end of practice and in the days to come.
