DIY marigold cream
The calendula cream is indicated to moisturize and soften dry and chapped skin and to soothe skin irritations. You can prepare it and use it as a normal moisturizer in case of couperose, psoriasis, eczema, hives and sunburn caused by excessive sun exposure.
Ingredients
> 56 g of distilled water
> 20 g of helichrysum hydrolate
> 20 g of calendula oleolite> 3.5 g Glyceryl stearate (emulsifier)
> 0.3 g of xanthan gum
> preservative according to technical data sheet
> 15 drops of lavender essential oil > 10 drops of essential rose oil
Preparation: mix the distilled water with the helichrysum hydrolate and xanthan gum in a pyrex glass container; in another pyrex container, add the calendula oleolite and the emulsifier.
Place the two containers in a bain-marie until the emulsifier has melted. Pour the oily phase (the oleolite and the emulsifier) into the aqueous phase and mix vigorously until an emulsion is obtained.
When the mixture appears creamy and thick, add the essential oils and the preservative. Store the cream at room temperature for three months, away from heat and light.

DIY marigold soothing butter
If the previous recipe seems too complicated, you can make this simple do-it-yourself calendula butter .
The soothing butter is used with the same indications as the cream we have already seen and is also indicated for treating the skin of infants and children in the event of irritation due to diapers, insect bites or dermatitis.
Ingredients
> 50 g of calendula oil
> 25 g of shea butter> 25 g of mango butter
Preparation : melt the shea butter and mango butter in a bain-marie; when the mixture is liquid remove from the bain-marie and add the marigold oleolite.
Mix the ingredients well, transfer the preparation to a clean, dry jar and let it cool to room temperature for a few hours.
Keep away from light and heat and use the product within two or three months.
