3 Recipes with oatmeal

Why eat oats

Oats that are bought in the form of flakes or flour, is a healthy and beneficial food for the body, but the debate about its consumption is still in progress for those who are intolerant to gluten and those suffering from celiac disease.

The constant and habitual intake of oats can help reduce cholesterol and blood sugar levels, increasing fiber intake, which cleans the arteries of fat deposits; it also enriches the body with those essential and precious amino acids and B vitamins, which are essential especially for those who follow vegan or vegetarian diets.

Furthermore, oats are very good for the intestines . Consuming it in the early hours of the morning, for breakfast, is the best thing, since oats are one of the best energy sources that exist, but oatmeal can also be used for other excellent preparations, being very versatile and also marrying well with other ingredients, even to make the pizza dough.

Here are some recipes based on oatmeal to better consume it.

Pizza with oatmeal

Ingredients for 4 people

> 250 g of type 1 or 0 flour;

> 150 g of spelled flour;

> 100 g of oat flour;

> 35 g of dehydrated powdered yeast;

> natural water at room temperature;

> a pinch of sugar;

> whole sea salt to taste.

Preparation

In a large bowl mix the yeast with the sugar and a little natural water, leaving at least a quarter of an hour to rest . Then add the flour and the rest of the water, kneading with your fingers, and, just at the end, salt.

It must be a soft but not sticky mass, which you will continue to work on floured pastry board for at least 10 minutes.

Put the dough ball so obtained in the bowl, cutting a cross in the middle with the knife, leaving it to rise for at least 3 hours covered with a damp napkin.

Then take the dough again, crush it and form 4 smaller balls and let them rest for another hour, covered with the upside-down bowl.

Take the pasta and make the pizzas, which you will season to taste and bake in a boiling oven at a maximum temperature (200-220 ° C), even better if cooked on a baking stone slab.

Vegan burgers of oats and vegetables

Ingredients

> 100 g of oat flakes;

> 50 g of oat flour (you can also make it by grinding the flakes themselves);

> 130 ml of water;

> a small onion;

> a carrot;

> half leek;

> 2 tablespoons of soy sauce;

> a pinch of salt and one of oregano;

> extra virgin olive oil.

Preparation

Grind the onion and carrot together with the leek and place in a bowl with the oats, water, soy, salt and oregano .

Stir very well for a few minutes and leave the resulting mixture to rest for about half an hour, covered.

Prepare the oven plate by coating it with greased baking paper with a little oil and fill the pasta bowl with the mixture, pressing the oats well with the help of a spoon or pestle.

Form the burgers one by one and cook them in a hot oven at 180 ° C for about 20 minutes, turning them halfway through cooking.

Do not be afraid: the compsto remains together because the oat-cooking becomes sticky and tends to "compact".
