June 21, Yoga Day: let's celebrate!

The spread of yoga in the world proceeds inexorably and widespread at all levels.

If a few decades ago this practice was reserved for hippies and alternative and was seen as exotic and mysterious, now a huge slice of practitioners does not give up on it for anything in the world. This success has meant that new styles were born to meet the most varied needs and that yoga could find space not only in special associations or clubs, but also in the most common gyms.

In the medical and scientific field, the oriental disciplines are the subject of numerous studies. Yoga and meditation, in particular, are increasingly investigated for the encouraging results achieved in the treatment of small and large physical and psychological disorders .

Nowadays, many doctors and therapists recommend the practice to their patients, every year dozens of trials are published and various conferences are organized around the world by and with figures of the highest intellectual caliber.

This introduction summarizes how yoga managed to gain an authoritative place in the daily life of the population and in the evaluation of the academic world. This does not mean that the path is (and has been) devoid of shadows or contradictions, but that there is in any case a general and profound interest in the subject and an ever-increasing desire to deepen it, until reaching an important stage in the evolution of the contemporary yoga: the establishment of an international day of yoga .

A look at the International Yoga festival

Yoga Day

The establishment of the international day of yoga dates back to a few months ago, precisely in December 2014.

The United Nations Organization has in fact ratified a resolution defined on June 21 as "yoga day", a day of celebration for masters, practitioners and enthusiasts from all over the world.

To the great satisfaction of the Indian authorities who are increasingly committed to safeguarding this discipline (in a more or less tactical way for nationalistic purposes, but it is another matter), now the Christmas of the yogis is written on the calendar, the day of the solstice of 'summer.

We just have to celebrate it properly!

Activities throughout Italy in Yoga Day

As with any party that respects itself, even for Italian Yoga Day there is a calendar of events: just click on the region where you live to see the offer of proposals on your territory.

Schools, associations, centers, individual professionals have made available spaces and expertise to offer free lessons to all enthusiasts. Guided practices, meditations, conferences, seminars: each methodology is good for spreading non-profit yoga.

Events like this favor the knowledge of a discipline that is certainly more and more known, but that never ceases to arouse resistance or skepticism; multiplying the opportunities for exchange can only bring down the preconceived positions and, at the same time, soften the preconceived positions and, at the same time, broaden the scope of the yogic proposal offered by the teachers.

It is an opportunity for meeting, deepening and sharing for all that we invite you not to miss!

Hospital art therapy

Hospital art therapy: when is it born? The art therapy in the hospital develops practically starting from after the second world war. The first real art therapy groups in the hospital were born in Great Britain in 1942 for tuberculosis patients and initially the method was that of an art school.
